The reason I put so much effort into that part, and spent hundreds of dollars to get a well known voice actor to voice it, is because a big absurdist set piece at the beginning acts as a really good filter for humorless dickbags with a negative post-like ratio.

humor is different between individuals much less cultures and continents meaning that some things you find hilarious others will likely think just awkward. there is nothing wrong with that either.

didn't you read the devs posts? it is a litmus test for enjoying the game.

in all reality if this was skippable and not a herald of things to come i would've skipped it and got on wit the game but bgoing by the comments here it is neither so here we are. sadly in light of recent developments in the world my doctor recommended to cut down on cringing so i can't really continue.

as far as ridiculous humor i find there is a time and place for it. however if i was to take any of this story seriously it can't be there, at the very beginning. and if i wasn't to take any of this story seriously then i would not likely enjoy it.

I thought the memelord humor was dumb but enjoyed the hell out of the 30 some odd chapters I played through (waiting to pick back up til there's more backlog, cause android isn't the best format to play but it's what I use).

Tone policing the dev about how they respond to a pretty common point of trolling and heckling, seems pointless... But I'm the kind of person that if I ever made one of these damn things, it'd have only the choice to read or not and all comments of "I don't like x" would be met with "read something else then", so I might have some biases.

Thats not how it works, if you enjoy good storys and skip this one, youre the only one missing out, nobody else is affected and nobody cares. For whatever it's worth at this point, yes, it is absolutely worth continuing. OoT is actually quite serious and thematically heavy underneath all of the levity and flashy battles. If you liked where it was going before the scene with CJ's dad, then you'll probably like the rest of it.
