No in the original upload Ch11 was replaced by Ch12 for some reason, but it's fixed now in the current upload. Is ch11 the right one to play still and its just mislabled in game as 12 or am I now playing out of order?
I’m actually really glad someone noticed that.So... your characters are Japanese but with names like Ashley, Teresa, Jamie, etc? Why?
Ooooh that's why it's called "Out of Touch", I just thought you liked the song You're too clever for meI’m actually really glad someone noticed that.
I don’t want to get into too many spoilers, but of all the characters that that have bios in the OP, only
are actually named that. You don't have permission to view the spoiler content. Log in or register now.
The rest are either using English names adopted at their international school, nicknames or just completely made it up.
This is a plot point for each of them and signifies them having some secret that gets revealed later and how “out of touch” they are with their family or themselves. We learn their birth names during each of their arcs. You don't have permission to view the spoiler content. Log in or register now.

Talking about names, what the hell was up with that "Saoirse" chapter title ? All I could find is that it's an Irish name
Haha, thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed it!What the actual fuck. This has no business being this good. I dismissed this initially as being another anime game in the same vein of every other one out there; you know the drill. Skip the dialogue, boring characters, in it for the tiddy. But this one has actual substance. You managed to make me care about the characters. Wild. Granted, it really is lacking in the service department for an H game. Not that we should be fucking all the girls now or anything, as that would cheapen the relationship building (something every other game gets wrong), but it's scarce to see even a titty or two within 15 chapters. Maybe you're just in it for the long haul and we're just getting started? The story, (as ridiculous as it is), is on point. I'll admit, I was worried you were trying too hard with the drama, but you really tied it up and brought it back full circle to have meaning and you're actually fleshing out your characters to be more than just mere fuckdolls. Poignant without being cheesy or pedantic. Finally, a game I can look forward to not only for the "PLOT" , but for the plot. Keep doing what you're doing man, this formula is Ace. Excellent job!
Funny, that's actually pretty much the structure of Japanese harem VNs, one lenghty shared route at the beginning then individual routes, culminating in a harem route if you pick all the individual routesHaha, thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed it!
When I set out to make this particularly strange brand of smut, from day 1 I wanted it to be for your heart-boner as much as for what's in your pants.
Sorry about the following wall of text, I think you brought up a really good point.
You're right that it's a bit of a slow burn as far as h-content goes but that's for two important reasons and I think you'll understand why:
1) I want the first h-event for each girl to be very significant both emotionally and in terms of their plot. Part of that is building tension until it's ready to explode, but another is to make it as impactful on the reader as possible.
Some of my absolutely favorite VNs have some pretty god awful sex scenes that feel like they're complete after thoughts, forced upon the creators by their producers (*Cough* Muv Luv *Cough*). That's something I really want to avoid by making the physical intimacy a key part of the relationship between those characters.
The only downside is that takes some establishing to make work, thus the apparent dry spell of h-content. If you've played Chapter 15, the ending scene with Sarah really shows what I'm trying to do with every girl (in their own unique way, of course).
2) I actually want to tie most of the h-content in the game to the upcoming gameplay mechanics. In the adventure segments and in other places you'll have opportunities to connect to the girls and build your relationships with them as CJ.
Or not.
I want the player to be able to pick and choose what h-content they receive. Want to go full Leah route? Sure.
Want Vic and Ashley? Go for it.
Feel like having the whole harem experience? Absolutely. But I want that to be your choice.
The currently released content is what I would consider "mandatory" content, while each girls arc will be somewhat like a very long, time gated side quest that's rewarding but is ultimately optional.
Because it's mandatory content, I didn't want to start shoving h-content down the players throat lest I contradict that player choice philosophy I just outlined.
Anyway, sorry again for the word vomit. I hope that helped explain everything a bit.
In other news, here's some of what I was working on over the weekend! Dialogue writing is going ahead at a good rate and I made a few more lewds just to keep things interesting.

Some of them yeah. In terms of structure though, Out of Touch is currently laid out more like an early Bioware RPG where there's a main plot and romanceable party members with their own side quests/arcs.Funny, that's actually pretty much the structure of Japanese harem VNs, one lenghty shared route at the beginning then individual routes, culminating in a harem route if you pick all the individual routes

I had a feeling that was the case. I had the same complaint for Muv-Luv as well. Fate/Stay had the same issue also. I certainly enjoyed both, but that took away from the experience. It's like you said, an afterthought. And if not strictly an afterthought, it was just unnaturally quick without sense for social queues or realistic progression. Honestly, good relationship pacing isn't particularly common even among some of the classics. Having read over 200 JVNs, I completely get you. I'm glad that someone with the drive to make a game also understands the value of what realistic relationship pacing does for their game. You're doing what I've always envisioned character building in a smut game should be like; in the sense that immediate gratification completely cheapens any depth to a character. What I meant with H content wasn't straight up sex, but more with regards to fanservice, which could be tackled in many ways. However, you've clarified that as simply a slow burn. I get annoyed when I come across characters who you more or less just met, or heck, even had you know them for a conveneiently long time, you never made any attempt to bond or get to know them as a person, and for some reason they want to fuck you. Why do they like you? Why do they feel comfortable with you touching them? This is where your individual character narration enhanches that aspect. It gives the semblance of a real person considering their position. As a character who knows the MC, regardless of how much you like him, why the fuck would they immediately want to sleep with you? That's not really how it works, is it?
Also, as an aside, in regards to what was mentioned regarding JVNs and the similarity with your structure, I don't think that really matters here or is particularly relevant. The point is how you tackle presenting that structure, and unlike every other nukige-style approach on this site, you're putting effort into the pacing and development of characters as a focal point, rather than a cookie cutter approach where after you talk to the girl, she fucks you. Or medium effort approaches where you have some derivative reason to have her like you, or you do something for her at light speed and so, of course, she must fuck you. Not hating on nukige, but it's refreshing seeing actual care being put into the pacing and the somewhat realistic handling of lust/attraction of the characters.

I think every ecchi anime have at least one beach episode with skimpy bikinis if that can be an inspirationView attachment 923640
I think we're on the exact same page.
I completely understand making a game where it's just an excuse to get your porn with a little bit of gameplay and a porno-tier story. There's a big market for that, this very forum proves it. Nothing wrong with that if it's made with that intention and people enjoy it.
What I really don't like is pretty much what you described: You get a completely blank, personality-less MC who the girls just immediately want to fuck because...the plot requires them to. He's not really a self insert, he's not really a character. He just exists because there needs to be a dick in the story.
My frustration with that sort of harem set up is exactly what led to me writing CJ, who is very purposefully designed to be the exact opposite of that sort of harem protagonist.
And point taken about the fan service in the current content. I've actually been wondering if I've had enough and I'm glad I've gotten some feedback in that regard. I think there are a few good spots in Vol. 1 to stick a little more fan service in.
I'm such a sucker for beach episodes that I made the "Hunter's Dream/Firelink Shrine" equivalent for OoT CJ and Sarah's beach houseI think every ecchi anime have at least one beach episode with skimpy bikinis if that can be an inspiration
Thank you!~just read the first 3 chapters, and damn....this is so good in so many ways
it's beautiful & cute, heartwarming, dramatic, funny, sad, weird and a lot more - and the soundtrack really adds to the game, like i've not often experienced it before. (even though i'm not a fan of that slowed version of Careless Whisper^^)
keep up the good work, Story Anon
