And no, this isnt a case of the game being compressed really poorly, it actually is just that long. Several months ago, someone estimated it would take something like 3+ hours to reach the end while holding skip. And that was with less content.
But if you want animated scenes, try Tropicali! Its got them in spades, though no sound.
The focus of this project is the story, with animation and combat being added in at a later date. Kind of like how The Last Soverign focused on finishing the story, and is adding the art when its finished later.
