So question about the last chapter... Hopefully a well worded one.

So on the train when CJ was changing appearance; was that happening because that is what each goddess sees him as, was it more as a way of showing they see what they want to or something? I know that a few of the girls had described him as American, maybe they just described him as white but I think it was along the lines of "as American as it gets" or something when one of the girls was wondering about CJ's parents and Stacey being Japanese. Plus Leah commented on his rosy blonde hair.

Like the girls (shards) see him as the player does correct?

Point being, to me it came off as this is what the girls see him as in order to get them to fall for them, but I mainly assumed it was more the goddess' and not Victoria, Leah, or Teresa themselves. Like the goddess' see what they want. The last chapter just got me wondering if anyone anyone actually loves CJ or they are just shown what attracts them and are made to have feelings for him... which CJ probably feels the same lol I mean Leah seemed to at least fall for his actions (even if Carpo had initially lit the spark which IDK if she did or not) and same with the other girls... though Ashley was all over him early on...

So I guess I am just curious what the significance of his appearance changes and if I at least got close to the mark.

As far as I know everyone sees him as we see him. I think that whole sequence is just to show a physical representation of how easy it is for the goddesses to change and mold CJ's mind depending on their desires, and the crisis of identity that CJ is suffering because of that.

You mention that CJ got leah to love him because of his actions, but now we know that he took said actions because it was what leah (and by association carpo) wanted, since both share personalities and likes. That's why CJ says things like "I will make your dreams come true" or why he have no problem acting like her servant, since that's what she likes. Or why he has emotional necessities that teresa (or auxo) is just perfect to fill, or why he is so accepting of anything Vicky does regardless of how messed up it is. That's where this whole crisis of identity comes from, now he doesn't know which thoughts are truly his and which ones are the ones they put in his head.

For what i got the goddesses cannot affect his actions directly, otherwise he would have never arrived at the cemetery since they didn't want him there, but they are the ones who control his mind, and if they can make him think like they want, then they can make him act base on those thoughts.

For example: If one day carpo/leah suddenly developed an interest in fucking CJ with a strap-on, she would start to mess with his mind, changing his values so that he out of nowhere is now interested too regardless of how out of character that is for him, because at the end of the day he is what they want him to be, thinks like they want him to, and says what they wish to hear.

That's why all the girl love him, he is everything they could ever want, because he is literally what they want.

Yeah I kind of saw it as a manifestation of his crisis of identity. Like I said, I was left wondering if they loved CJ because who he is, like who he is without the goddess' intervention or do they love him because he was molded by the goddess's to be desirable? but who even is he without their intervention? Though, while Jaime might not be my fav LI for CJ, her feelings are at least real probably ( kind of the point of the end of the chapter I know)

But I guess I got that from these also...

Got to admit that makes me a bit depressed lol spend 50 chapters getting invested in some of the relationships and see characters fall for each other, only to then see that it could all be a lie. Like I thought Carpo at least might have put the idea in Leah's head to focus on CJ so I during her arc I was wondering if her feelings were truly hers. But even before that there seemed to be something there, So it seemed like she fell for CJ on her own and that was that. I honestly really got into their story and interactions so it sucks to now learn that the CJ she fell for might not be real and neither are those feelings lol. Guess I liked the idea of rescuing a princess from a gilded cage and offering the world to her, and her willing to burn the world burn for you lol

I'm used to stories having a low point, where the heroes feel like all hope is lost, but this hit harder emotionally lol Hard not to feel bad for CJ, Sarah, Kieran, and even Cro. They are all in the same boat. I mean, hell all of them are in the same boat I guess. There's that low point I suppose.

Been awhile since I read a VN that I got emotionally invested in and I'm really into CJ, Leah, Victoria, Sarah, Misaki/Kieran, and Cro so sucks to think some of them might fall out of love lol but there are 49 chapters left so doubt things end for them there.

It would suck not to know if someone really loves you... though I suppose that has always been the case with the rings and being soul bonded.

I think I mainly vented/thought out loud on that lol so sorry if I repeated back anything you said but thanks for your input. Got me thinking a bit more

Imo you both got fooled by granddaddy.

He believes it works like that but its strongly indicated that he's wrong again (like the first time). He is really good at getting information but he's too biased and set in his way to come to the right conclusions or simply lacks some facts to come to the right conclusions.

CJ is not a puppet created by the goddesses to fulfull their dreams and wishes imo, if at all its the other way around. The old CJ/Glory created all this (maybe even including the Goddesses) and new CJ. It was his plan/design, not theirs.

Otherwise the intro would be kinda nonsensical imo but there is a lot open to interpretation.

It is true that at the moment this entire problem may be a plan of original CJ (Glory), and that he actually planned for the four to kill Jacob, create an imaginary replacement made out of their desires, preferences and fetishes, put that imaginary being in a human body and gave him dead jacob's shard of himself. But even if all of this is true and is all his plan, that still makes CJ a creation that at the moment is being controlled by the 4.

Glory could have planed that they would make CJ, but that doesn't mean that CJ is free or in control right now. He may be in the future when glory's plan comes about but until then CJ is still a toy of the four. For example: If i had a plan to make me rich, that doesn't mean that I am rich and that I can buy everything I want right now, I may be rich in the future once my plan succeeds but until then I am dead poor. Same with CJ, until whatever glory planned for him happens, he is a toy of the four, regardless of if this whole scenario is for him.

Even if glory created the four, it was the four who created CJ, that is this whole arcs plot. And you can't just say that because glory may have planned this or may have created the goddesses he is CJ's creator, that's like saying that my grampa is actually my father, since he made my father, or like saying that if I created something new that new thing would actually be my father's creation, since he made me. You are stretching the correlations too much.

And as for the time travel thing you mention, it is clear that you and I have VERY different opinions of how we see a "being" and their "shards". Let me put khione and victoria for example: Victoria and khione share traits with each other since victoria is a shard of khione, she has her personality, her likes, her way of thinking, but she DOESN'T have her memories, that is the most important distinction between them. Khione regards victoria's mother as a tool and a nuisance, something that she discarded and let her die once it's purpose was completed. That is something that victoria would NEVER do since she loved her, she was born as a human who grew and made memories and relations of her own, and this own feelings of her would only return to the original once her shard died and fuse back with her.

Cro is the best example of what this looks like, a cro with all her memories of her pain and suffering is the red fox cro we all know, while a cro with no recollection of any of this is a sarah. Same with carpo, she made her shard and by that definition herself suffer SO MUCH since she didn't care because from her experiences this was necessary for her goal and she had already suffered worst. meanwhile her shard is having a mental breakdown and throwing herself from the top of a building.

For me the "whole" and the "shard" have a relationship more akin to clones where the shard have their minds wipe completely while the "whole" remains whole and is capable of seen and feeling through their clone. I see the "whole" and their "shards" has the same being but split.

And this is too how a see CJ's case but worse, because he is not even a shard, he is a product made by the four.

Your definition of CJ being glory just makes it seem like CJ did all of this to himself completely aware of everything, that he ruined families, destroyed lives, and suffer so much himself out of his own free well and then... forgot about it? act like he didn't know? wipe his own memory? seeing his personality this seems completely out of character. Note: My main language is not English so it takes me a while to write something decent and respond but I actually like sharing views like this since this games is the kind that makes you theorize a lot and search for other points of view, so feel free to challenge my views about this.

I see it like the usual glory shards are missing the essence of glory which the goddesses added manually back to CJ.

Its what makes him different from all the other glory shards we already encountered, he was "perfected" to become who he was once more in a proccess which needed apparently eons of time.

Also I have to say, if this is glory's plan then he is worse than grampa, he made his lovers suffer the worst hell and become the worst monsters because of him... I just can't see CJ and think, "yeah, he would definitely cause all this pain thinking that at the end he would just fix it all with his god powers".

It was a desperate plan as we saw in the prologue. Something was happening to the goddesses, they may were dying or already fracturing. Cro mentions in the prologue to glory how he "can still save them" and imo thats what this story is mainly about. Glory is trying to rescue his loved ones.

He deemed this necessary to save his loves and its a major theme of this avn how love can be corrupt(ed) or obsessive and lead to bad actions/outcomes.

And i think youre looking at this (like Cj and unlike for example glory) from a very emotional/human perspective. From Glorys or for example Auxo's perspective its just the way of life/nature, universes get created and destroyed. People are born and die, civilizations get created and destroyed and so on.

Its a very philosphical topic. You see the goddesses more like humans/living persons while i see them more as a "concept" like death/life/creation and so on.

This chapter made me anxious as fuck while reading it for the same concers that you have (my favorite characters are also the same ones you mentioned there at the end lol). But upon replaying the game after it, I don't think it is as bad as grandpa made it sound like. He LOVES to take a portion of the truth and manipulate it to fit his owns goals, and since his goal was for CJ to literally kill himself, he had all the reasons to make him feel as miserable as possible.

From a purely meta point of view it wouldn't make sense for the author to write 49 chapters of relationship buildup just to throw it all in the trash.

My own theory is that the goddesses created him based on their own ideals, like grandpa said, but they don't actively control him. So basically they picked traits like understanding, caring, reliable, forgiving etc. when creating him and from that point on everything CJ did were his own actions based on said preset values. When you look at it from this point of view it doesn't sound too different from how gene mods work in this universe, only that instead of being a more generalist package it was designed around 4 individuals. Meaning that he COULD have accused Vic of rape but didn't. As for the "I will make all your dreams come true" bit, that seems more like CJ being good at reading people than Carpo controlling what he says. To some that may still be the same thing but to me it makes a big difference. Regardless of where his values came from, CJ is still CJ and his actions are his. Of course, you could say that he never really had a chance to form his own morals like people do but eh, I don't think that's completely true either.

It's also important to note that he isn't 100% compatible with all of the girls. In fact, during the train scene we see that CJ is actually afraid of Leah's (and by extension Vic's) bloodlust on some level. That's one of the examples of his own morals conflicting with the goddesses/shards. Another example is at the end of Teresa's arc when HE controls Vic and Leah when they get too blinded by rage and their goddesses' influence.

Like I thought Carpo at least might have put the idea in Leah's head to focus on CJ so I during her arc I was wondering if her feelings were truly hers. But even before that there seemed to be something there, So it seemed like she fell for CJ on her own and that was that. I honestly really got into their story and interactions so it sucks to now learn that the CJ she fell for might not be real and neither are those feelings lol.

I don't think people notice (or at least they don't talk about it much) that Leah was actually developing a crush for CJ at the start of the game. With the few scenes they have at the early chapters we can see both through Leah's thoughts and her body language that she is feeling attraction towards him. Their scene at the Tea Club and the next one in the hallway solidified that for me.

However, once she learned about the existence of the rings and what they implied, she completely closed herself off and started to second guess any growing non-platonic feelings towards CJ. We can notice that there was a shift in her behaviour with CJ after that. What I think Carpo did in her arc was - through magic - open Leah's mind about CJ again while also nudging her towards him using her own memories of Glory. So you could say that Carpo simply made things pick up from where they were left off, with a little extra.

And even with that, Carpo still had to actively intervene A LOT in order for her plan to work. The most blatant case was after CJ, Sara and Leah came back from Sima's world and Vic asked to talk to Leah about the night at the karaoke bar. If that conversation had gone uninterrupted, they would probably hook up and that would either make Carpo's plan fail or it would make it extremely more difficult. So, she took control of Ayu and made her call Leah, which caused Leah to become even more pessimistic about her situation.

Just the amount of work Carpo had to put in in order to make Leah fall for CJ should be indicative that what Hayato said about CJ is not the whole truth.



With all that being said, it will take some time until all our characters are fully comfortable with these revelations, regardless of how true they are or how manipulated they were. Leah will probably be the least affected and Teresa will have some trouble, but CJ and Vic in particular are gonna be MISERABLE in the next chapters.

This chapter made me anxious as fuck while reading it for the same concers that you have (my favorite characters are also the same ones you mentioned there at the end lol). But upon replaying the game after it, I don't think it is as bad as grandpa made it sound like. He LOVES to take a portion of the truth and manipulate it to fit his owns goals, and since his goal was for CJ to literally kill himself, he had all the reasons to make him feel as miserable as possible.

From a purely meta point of view it wouldn't make sense for the author to write 49 chapters of relationship buildup just to throw it all in the trash.

Yeah I agree with you. And to the point of the goddess's controlling or manipulating him, and the others, why would they allow them and the group to befriend Jaime. Like even as kids. They hate Jaime and know what she is so why not cause the group to ostracize her? Was just a thought that I thought lol CJ, or at least this CJ was always gonna be what he is, the person Cro loved lol and she knew... Or at least that has seemed to be a point. So yeah I agree that CJ is obviously getting manipulated and well it worked (on both the character and me lol)

But that is also why I liked Leahs so much, it felt genuine. Vics feelings felt genuine but not much was done for them, they were always there. Whereas with Leah, there were chapters dedicated to her developing those feelings feelings kind of but CJ had to work for them it seemed, or at least get her to open up. Whereas like you said, Carpo could've just forced it if she had true control over them.

In the end it is just me wondering how much of CJ is CJ and how much is the Goddess's influence. I mean they made him sure, but Jacob (the little guy) also played a part in what he grew up to be. I mean my point with Jaime was how much can the 4 truly influence him. Eh will find out i guess

I have a technical question about the latest update after replaying it a bit, I doubt I'll get an answer but I'll post my question anyway in case someone who knows sees it.

¿Why doesn't Diary have voice lines in the finale of this arc?

All of Cro pieces got voice lines; Sarah, Kieran, Cro, yet Diary who is a piece of Sarah (and therefore a piece of Cro too) didn't got any. This became more confusing when I replayed the part where Sarah and Kieran went to the park to talk about Kieran's new condition and then suddenly Diary appears and talks to Kieran about being sisters, at witch Kieran gets confused and tells Sarah that she heard her voice coming from the opposite direction. So this confirms that Diary doesn't just have Sarah's appearance but also her same voice, and Sarah already has voice lines in the finale of the arc so ¿why don't do the same for Diary?.

¿Was it a money thing?, ¿Mayby it wasn't worth it since she is a very secondary character that doesn't even appear in the final confrontation?, ¿was it to avoid confusion?. That last one I doubt since this AV is confusing already as it is.

I'm just curious what the technical reason for that was, even if it's something stupid.
