From what we found out in ch39, it sounds like the genemod thing is going to go from a "oh btw, there's a reason everyone has great tits" to a pretty important bit of the plot.

There's actually a lot of that in the game. Something starts out looking like porno-game silliness (CJ being dumb, the big meme guy in the sky, the girl-pretending-to-be-a-boy, girls being more attracted to the MC than makes sense, etc) that then turn out to have very, very deeply thought out reasons for them that are slowly being revealed over time.

There's actually a lot of that in the game. I'd say the gememods got serious in chapter 19 when it was revealed Sarah is CJs genetic clone and that every single gene in his body was edited (likely by his dad's lancing).

And if you refuse to press spacebars because they killed your grandparents during the console wars, it's even bindable to whatever key you want in the settings.

idk I think I formed a habit of not pressing spacebar rapidly as it used to bring up the stickey key menu

If you're reading the text the spacebar shouldn't be fast enough to cause sticky keys (which can be disabled btw).
And if you're trying to skip through then holding the skip key doesn't require pressing.

You can use enter or numpad enter - they do same thing as click/spacebar/single touch. Or you can rebind advance to almost any key in settings menu. You can also use Auto toggle key and not click at all. If you need to skip you can either hold Ctrl or use skip toggle key. You can rebind both auto and skip toggle keys (defaults are A and S). You don't even need to click menu options - you can use 1-6 / Shift 1-6 for dialogue menus and 1-9 in town menu (or also rebind them to w/e key you want).
