The problem is not that difficult to solve, actually. And I'm sure the Japanese government knows it. Enforce the labor laws with an iron fist, especially the laws about getting off work on time; and pay people to have children.
But Japanese government is unwilling to actually do anything. Blaming young people for everything, while stealing the money by truckload, is so much easier.

They prefer to make ntr games. South Korea is in even worse position and it seems that most countries have problem with declining birth rates. Interestingly, black people and Muslims are the most fertile.

Wanted to do a clean run. Not using the regedit or cheat save.
Played and unlocked a few things. So far, so good. Gameplay is boring but whatever. I like the leveling rng thing.

Game was updated to fix the switch interaction, so buy the game if you want the update now, or just wait for someone to provide it here.

Also according to someone apprantly you can use the switch if you don't kill any enemies in the room first, but I can't confirm that.

Nah their birth rates fall off a cliff too as soon as they get any money. Humans used to have a high birth rate and death rate that evened out. Modern medicine, hygiene, and agriculture caused death rates to drop, leading to a population explosion. But as countries industrialized and became more urban children went from free labor to extremely expensive economic burdens. This also has a natural aspect as animals that have low survival rates have more children while ones with high survival rates instead invest more resources into a smaller number of offspring. Once nations transitioned to service based economies it takes even longer to become financially independent due to many jobs requiring further education and training, causing people to have children later in life and broadening the age gap between each new generation which lowers overall numbers.

Culture plays some role, i.e. mormons, but even their birthrates are declining. You only have to look at rich muslim countries like qatar to see their birthrates plummeting below replacement level just like everyone else. African countries are experiencing population growth right now because they haven't fully industrialized, but they'll meet the same fate. The global population will peak around 11 billion and shrink from there, with the more "developed" economies experiencing precipitous declines.

Anyway this game is completely broken as far as I can tell, but they've supposedly patched that lever in the newest version. Honestly shame on them for letting a completely gamebreaking bug slip into release. The game itself remains mediocre, with those very slow elevators remaining aggravating and the rest being mid.

There appears to be some in the gallery but you can't access them on this version due to the aforementioned bug.

No, politicians started complaining about birth rates before the Internet. Because they think that GDP will increase to match the increased population. But in practice, it seems that it's the other way around, and children are born only if there are jobs for them. Jobs that can pay for rising the new generation.
Or you can put it more philosophically, and say that children are investment into the future, and there isn't enough future, so there are few children.

I will wait for at least few patches before diving in, the game is promising yet unfinished. I bought the game on dlsite to support the dev, I want more games like this.

It is a mediocre game, and the resolution is trash. The developer needs to fix the resolution scaling to a bit lower, so we can be able to see the whole gameplay and access to more options.
