You may like your cliffnotes version, or the "movie version" of a story, and some of us like the 10 book series. Doesn't mean either is wrong, just different tastes.

People would be well to remember that everyone doesn't have the same tastes, otherwise the world would be full of "hurr hurr, that's cool, good grafics man!" type posts about games, when the story may well be worth much much more. Any writer, for a game, book or otherwise should be absolutely thrilled to have people want to dive into their story to discuss it, since otherwise you just end up with dime story novel trash no one remembers, much less spend the time and effort to discuss and review.

But when people start making giants posts based not in the game's story or its characters but in the credits page, turning it into a whole conspiracy theory meme it is not surprising when some forum users find it weird.

And this below can also be said about those types of walls of text.

I am not gonna start a meta-discussion about the appropriate length of posts. Sure, there are some members, which tend to go over the top a bit (perhaps myself included), which may weird out some and others not. But i don't see any harm in that, because it costs the disinterested member next to nothing to skim, skip or to ignore the post. And given that this is a 'game discussion threat' i'll take weird posts about the game anytime over posts like

• "Mina best girl"
• "When next update?"
• "Pale Carnation garbage NTR!"

and posting 'hilarious' memes. I tend to find them boring and uninformative.
Any expression of an idea or theory usually needs more than one or two lines of text. Even your rather short answer used six lines of text and four sentences.

Also, since you quoted the credits page, the devs changed the loading screen pictures a few times already, but their Team Mutt and Jeff image hasn't throughout the updates. It's not unreasonable to identify one of the polaroids as Warrens', so it doesn't look like a generic credit page they intended to use for future games. Speculating about that in a heavy crime themed VN is not that eccentric.

I'd like to conclude this post with some food for thought:
Anyone can make a very short nonsense statement like "The Earth is obviously flat."
And whoever is in the uncomfortable situation to debunk this idiocy will need more than one sentence. That's the curse of the internet, because it's hard to keep the attention of an audience which is used to memes and thirty second clips.

I see the point that walls of text may discourage some people from posting, but I think that's okay. In my case, I've been interested in some of the theories thrown about, but often I have neither the time nor inclination to contribute something worthwhile to those conversations. I can still enjoy other's theories posted here, marveling at how well thought out they are, even when they are ludicrous. I like that other people love this game enough to spend their time thinking about it to that extent. And even when disagreeing, I find the commenters on this thread to be well-behaved and respectful. A bunch of degenerate lewd game fans politely debating fan theories about this filth out of TD and Gil's imagination somehow restores some of my faith in humanity.
There's certainly room on this thread for all types of posts, and frankly I'm not sure that Shizunae's comment was intended as a condemnation or complaint about all the theories. I read it as a lighthearted observation of the difference between his level of fandom and some of the others. Some English learners use "too much" when "so" or "very" might better convey the tone their comment intends, which is just a byproduct of translating thoughts in native language into English. That little difference can make humorous observations come across more insulting or confrontational than intended. The first time my wife told me I was "too much hairy" kinda cut me a little. She wasn't wrong, but still...

This ties into the question how the owners actually recruit their paying members. It's obvious that they don't just hand out carnation club memberships to everybody, but aim for high-class clients instead, and on the other hand they can't just approach a random CEO with "Good evening Sir. May i interest you in our top-level brothel? We aim to please your darkest desires, for a hefty price of course.".

The fatty shown in the video has definetly the same body model, but there could be a different head on this body.

Not to sdrag this off topic further, but I believe you're slightly confused.

My "admonishment" ws not that you agreed, but you disparaged other types of posts you disagreed with. That may not have been your intent but it's how it came accross. Regardless of it you find it "weird" or not, let's not insult the posts of others, which was the point of my post, and I offered an example of what the foum might look like if everyone followed your apparent preferred post type and content.

As the saying states: "If you don't have anything nice to say, just say nothing at all." I don't recall anyone who may have made those "walls of text" type posts complaining about the shortness of other people posts, instead they just moved past them with no comment.

On a forum that has free membership, it's best if everyone recall that you aren't required to read anything, if someone doesn't like a game, the game content, the posts in the thread about said game, etc, unless they want to post constructive they can always move past quietly. Some of us, myself included, may point out the situation with someone complaining about someone else posting in a non-polite manner, which is a bit hypocritical I agree, since we could just as easily move on.

The TL;DR, if you don't like a post, but don't have anything to add to refute it, just move on..

Urination is very avoidable, yes. BDSM is not avoidable at all, although it isn't very intense as far as BDSM goes. I actually can't remember where there was any lactation, so I'm gonna say it's either very light, or possibly avoidable altogether.

Some player-centric stuff is avoidable, but there's other instances of those tags where they unavoidably happen between background characters.

Not to mention, the core scenario of the game is about desperate women being exploited for the sexual gratification of rich men. Now, the story is not without its wholesome or light moments, but it's not a happy-go-lucky kind of read either. The player is meant to find certain elements of it uncomfortable as part of the narrative hook.

Yeeeah.... no. I mean each to their own, if that's all you want. If your main goal in PC is to score two cute maidens, that's fine, but i think you don't need this game for it, there are hundreds of others in which you can do that.
The main appeal of PC for me are the characters, their backstories and how they connect to each other, i really want to know what's going on with them, and leaving just one piece out would destroy the picture.
There are other Games with better CGIs, other games which have also a good worldbuilding and have also a well-done characterization of its cast. But i consume those other games like most movies, they are enjoyable while watching and when you leave the theater their effect doesn't last. And then there are those rare movies, series, books or games which keep you engaged long after you have seen, read or played them. For me PC is one of those rarities. I honestly can't remember any other AVN which kept me engaged so thoroughly. I don't expect everyone to feel the same way about PC, but perhaps you can relate.
So you are of course welcome to just get off on your favourites, i don't judge, but it feels to me like you treat an A5 wagyu filet as a random piece of beef, good enough to grind into common burger patties. You can do that, i won't call you philistine, yet i prefer to savour its taste more extensively.

Ye, sounds good mate, as you said each to their own. Pale Carnations is a good work and i will continue playing it as long it gets updated. For you to choose how you consume is your own right. It's just weird to see everybody make assumptions / theories and wander off into the abyss of theorycrafting.

It's funny, I was talking to my friend about VN's and he has only ever played one, he said its about some landlady and her tenants, it was so weird the way they acted around each other at first. I started cracking up and didn't have the heart to tell him.

It's honestly weird for me that I am into PC, its much more edgy than I usually go for, I don't like seeing characters get hurt or being forced into doing something they wouldn't because of bad circumstance, but I am really enjoying this one so far, I just finished
