The duality of man.Imagine the voices of all these cute mature girls. Damn, that would be interesting.
On the other hand, I know which voice actors will be voicing the girls, so it's not so interesting anymore.....
You know, voice acting could be nice but it's also a dire limitation. There are only so many hours of dialogs you can pay/put in the game, and it usually caps the lenght of the story and the branching pats.what an omission, in fact, that there is no voice acting in the game. Imagine the voices of all these cute mature girls. Damn, that would be interesting. How much the game would become alive from this.

This game makes about 5.500 bucks on Patreon. That has to be split between the devs. A VA costs a shitton of money if you want to hire a proper one, with some charging 25 bucks per minute. The audio doesn't just have to be recorded, but also edited and adjusted for the game, as well as implemented. That's a lot of lines of extra code when most of these devs aren't professionals, writing spaghetti code.Explain
Yes, I understand money and time. No one has enough of either. This game makes about 5.500 bucks on Patreon. You also have to have constant communication with various voice actresses, meaning extra work.
Due to the nature of how these games are developed, with the scriptwriting often starting only after releasing an episode, going in tandem with the renders, it would also heavily prolong the time between updates, since only when the script is done you are able to hand it all over to the VA, who also takes a lot of time recording and editing the audio. If changes need to be made, that means longer waiting time for the updates to be released since you can only hand over the script to the VA when it is completely done.
That's a lot of extra work and money spent on a feature that barely anyone asks for.
Yes, you're right. My dream is stupid. Not a fan of full VA for AVN, I think it's a waste of resources. I read faster than they speak, it's more annoying than anything. Maybe some AI can do the job for "cheap" (at least cheaper than real VA) but that's something a lot of players will mute anyway, more often than they mute music.
You guys are gonna freak when you find out Edwin's incessant monologues are voiced by someone who sounds like Big Bird in my head.
Well, when you finish the game, you will grow old, you will become lonely. you can voice the game yourself. if you want. You guys are gonna freak when you find out Edwin's incessant monologues are voiced by someone who sounds like Big Bird in my head.
I found a solution with your quick reading. You can simply add a function to disable text on the screen. Just the voice of the actors. Not a fan of full VA for AVN, I think it's a waste of resources. Yeah but it takes more time to play/read it thenI found a solution with your quick reading. You can simply add a function to disable text on the screen. Just the voice of the actors.
You can just watch and listen.
Okay, I have nothing more to say. Unless in the future there will be interactive porn games with "live" actors and there will be what I would like.Yeah but it takes more time to play/read it then
Sounds good to me as long as Ian sounds like Mr. Snuffleupagus, August and Chuck like Bert and Earnie respectively, and Kat sounds like AbbieYou guys are gonna freak when you find out Edwin's incessant monologues are voiced by someone who sounds like Big Bird in my head.
Well, I have the feeling that we're going towards a November release.View attachment 3831782
Dev Diary 78
Hello, TD here.
I'm writing this later than usual, in the midst of spinning my wheels over some dialogue, so I'll keep this quick.
As of July 14th, the current count for Ch4Up5 is 1,345 statics, 41 animations, and 25,661 words.
That works out to 105 statics, 16 animations, and 2,623 words added to the project over the last two weeks.
As you can see, the focus has been on animations. Some really, really juicy animations for a Rosalind branch that has surprised me by becoming one of my favorite h-scenes in both a creative and a lizard brain sense. That's one of the fun things about this hobby, and the boon of collaborating with a wonderful artist like GIL. I know what I like, but sometimes our mish mash of ideas align in a serendipitous way that expands my love for writing smut.
Anyway, I'd say we're about 80% through with the Rosalind stuff. The more "romantic" branch is behind us, and we're currently chipping away at the last one. After that, they'll be some loose ends to tie up and a scene we've got some partial work done on already, but then we'll be on Friday of Week 3.
Boy, we're looking forward to getting to Friday.
As always, thank you for enabling GIL and myself to live our best life. Not a day goes by where either of us takes our good fortune for granted, and we're only able to do what we enjoy doing because of you.
I love you guys.
