While I have no problem with waiting for the free version, I admit I would play a leaked version. Personally I am sad that Pale Carnations can only be supported via Patreon so far. I boycott Patreon for years and it is a principal thing.

Cripes. I was aware itch.io was "forced" to hide most adult content, and seeing some adult themed games (e.g. Sex and the Sea by CherrySock, Camp Klondike by Swimsoot) are still able to be bought via Paypal, I assumed that there was still a minimum of discretion regarding content types, and that there was no blanket ban on NSFW content. But I can see how pushing boundaries is not worth the effort, given the circumstances. My bad. Hooray for the magnificent and progressive fates!

I honestly hope it doesn't leak, the devs deserve all the money they can get.
But to answer your question, last time I'm pretty sure it leaked day 2 iirc, and for the update prior to that one I think it was day 1? So it's a possible, just know that at worse it'll probably get leaked the 30th when the price drops to 30$.
As Sunaboz mentioned, the few people that pay the 50$ do it to support the devs, so they most likely won't be the ones leaking. All it takes is 1 dude that wants to buy it for the people tho, but there's really no way to tell when/if it'll happen.
Hades II just launched so it's not like I'll die of boredom if I have to wait a couple more days for it

Itch.io was used only for public releases, and the lack of monetization there has nothing to do with the current censorship of NSFW games. As far as I understand, this is a fundamental position of TD and GIL, so monetization is unlikely to appear there.

I would definitely support TD and GIL, if I could via a way without Patreon and credit card. First, I live in a cash country, we simply need no credit cards (and I have no desire to get one), just our bank cards, second, the credit card companies are among the main problems we have. Just look how they use their might to illegally dictate what we get from shops.
I boycott Patreon and them for years for what they do to creativity and freedom to create. It is not only the AVN devs getting pressured, there are the first cases of e.g. crime story authors being pushed around.
As for Subscribestar and some other companies, under the scoreline sometimes it fails to pay off for Devs. Some have made good experiences, for some it is more hassle than anything else.
