Hey, I’d love to be proven wrong, I’m just genuinely intrigued to see how TD handles this part of the story. My skepticism comes from not knowing enough, so I’m actually excited to be enlightened.

I myself wonder if there will be any content with Sophia if I didn't "impress her", wasn't polite to her and called her a "whore nazi scientist". She was clearly not very flattered

True, but that's assuming she wears it 24/7 and it's the same potency. He was fine getting a drink and a shoulder rub from her without pinning her to the ground and going to town. He was also fine the whole house visit.

Sophia Lundgren is not psychotic. She is an amoral, eccentric genius, who also comes in handy when the lead starts to fly. Going by what can possibly happen with the storylines we have, Sophia might be the key to come out unscarred and/or alive.
Our hero has the chance to connect with her or not, depending on the player.


Sophia is not the type of person who honeycoats her words and actions. She also does not care how she comes across, she loaths most members of the PC club and it shows. If you connect with her or not, can be seen easily at the end of the "home invasion". She either leaves without saying anything, showing that it is simply a business thing or she she says a polite good bye. Since Sophia is such a blunt, tell it in the face person, as we can see several examples throughout the game, her being this polite is actually rather remarkable.

You forgot about another preview pic. Unless it will be gated by how we treated Sophia so far, we´ll have a meeting with her, most probably predating this scene. Remember the render of an arm taking up a glass in Edwin´s flat? The only woman in the game with both black painted nails and a wrist watch is Sophia.
If that meeting went well, our hero and Sophia will have come to a solution, compromise, relationship and/or alliance, concerning several problems. If that is the case, there is no reason to keep distance.
The question about "what game" can be very much about plans in motion, but it could also be as harmless as seeing Sophia styled like this before meeting Hana. As we know from the previews, Hana is also quite "openhearted" in her style this Carnation weekend.

I know you kept your distance from Sophia as much as you could, so some things will not happen quite the same way for you. The preview pic makes more sense if we presume Edwin and Sophia are in the same boat.
I naturally hope our hero and Sophia are already there or on the way towards a LI relationship at that point.

I don't really think the earlier preview changes that context; Sophia could visit an MC who distrusts her just as easily as she could visit an MC with whom she's managed to form the intimate relationship you've always wanted.

As for the distance between the characters, it's entirely possible this image is for only for use with an MC happy to stand next to Sophia. It's also possible this image is used regardless of our previous interactions with her. We don't know, hence why I found the blocking interesting.

I doubt Edwin's going to fuck Sophia in this update.

I don't know why you come to this conclusion but if it's true that's ironic because she is weak just like the carnations and accepts that her scientific capabilities aren't enough to please Abel and she has to become a slave to him, just like the carnations who could or could not have got themselves out of the situations for which they are competing in the exhibitions with their bodies, same goes for house girls. I'd even say she is more sinister than the club members because willingly allowing someone to do bad to you is in my opinion more worrying than someone on which bad has been imposed, also the fact that some of the carnations and house girls don't have any other options than doing what they are doing unlike Sophia who could have joined any other scientific facility because she has the capability to do that.

If she loathes the club members than she definitely should loathe Felicia but I am pretty sure she might be the one to praise her for what she is trying to do here, she is definitely the mirror image of her.

If you believe her to be weak, I regret to have to inform you that you are swallowing the masquerade of the two doctors at the club. Sophia might have sold out for a fast trip to the top, offsetting her comparable youth, eccentrism and gender bias in the conservative science community, but now she is the chosen successor of Abel and will inherit his medical empire when he retires.What is underestimated in the discussion here is that van Doren´s retirement will not be that far in the future, a couple years at most.

Additionally, van Doren is fond of Sophia, there are a couple interludes where this shines through, esp. outside the club. The doctors are playing a role when being inside the club. The "official" reason they are at PC, testing of Sophia´s new drug invention, is completely bogus. Chuck mentions that the two doctors have their own black ops labs, risking discovery of their unethical experiments at the club is unnecessary. Chuck simply misses the mark of their intentions, he believes them to be fellow perverts.
Abel and Sophia stick out like sore thumbs among the Pale Carnation gold members, so much they try to at least partially fit in. e.g. Abel proposing Sophia to Chuck was showboating and held zero risk for her. Both know that Chuck has a near pathological desire to win first, before he can enjoy something. He would never accept getting Sophia into bed just so.
The special gangbang also was part of the masquerade. Sophia was costumed like a house girl, so few people would recognise her (hell, even most players did not see it unril confirmed by TD himself). Showing that even a brain focused nerd like Sophia can be really wild.

I agree with you on that the "arm preview" could be just a simple preview, with low importance overall, which might be the case. On the other hand, we rarely, if ever got a preview pic of just a body extremity. So maybe there is more importance to this than is seeable now. But we agree that it is not the most important point.

Yes, Sophia worked on mainly Abel´s, but also her own, agendas for years. And since she is an end justifies the means girl, she will work with our MC, no matter the personal relations, if it advances her goals. Still, I estimate that the two preview pics fit better if Edwin/Sophia have relaxed relations than tense relations.
We should not forget that Abel and Sophia seem to try to "recruit" or at least start to recruit Edwin to their side.

Why does she loathe the club members?, what makes her any better than the club members, her medicine/spray is going to remove the inhibitions of house girls/carnations in future, again that makes her even more evil than the club members. Club members enables the exploitation, she is working on accelerating that exploitation.

Just like her Felicia is trying to use her body to become a club member than she is going to possibly benefit from the club members (laughable but in the premise of this game it's possible) but for that she is going to enjoy the exploitation of other carnations/house girls to fit in (or at least act to like it) both Felicia and Sophia are planing to benefit off of this exploitative business supported by the club members but Sophia also loathe the club members... What?

She and Abel loath most, not all, members of the club. Sophia (like Felicia, Hana, Vicki and Mina too) is a wonderful character full of contradictions, wants, dislikes, preferences which do not necessarily fit together like a chainmail. As it is for real life characters. One point does not have to exclude the other.

But what is more important for our story here, you have to look at the situation and the info we get throughout the game. The main reason Abel and Sophia are at the Club is to help Kathleen making her bid for sole power in the Club(in spoilers for new players). The true reason, for which there are several hints and evidence strewn throughout the game, why Abel and Sophia are at the PC club is they have plans, what these contain exactly is currently a mystery, but which do not include any of the old leadership remaining
Ironically, Abel warned Kath twice in a cryptical way, if she is sure to start and mentioned Kath´s genral situation to Edwin too. (there seems to be a server problem with uploading pics, otherwise I would show you)

Who says Sophia "hates" some club members? I said she loaths many of them, her behaviour is clear on this, that is not the same as hate. You do not have to hate a person for believing them to be something the cat dragged in.
One club person Sophia and Abel cannot stand in special is Chuck. Just look at several of their conversations.
