You can try using JoiPlay. That's what I use if I want to play on my phone. Performance is a bit better on compiled apks, but JoiPlay has the advantage of making the games moddable and easier to update if the game releases updates in the form of small patches and not the full file each time. And I don't have to wait for the android release of a game

After writing my review, which still is a work in progress, I'd like to leave a short résumé:

Well, that was quite a rollercoaster ride right into (and through) the entrails of depravity.

I can’t say that I thoroughly enjoyed the trip.

At times (during the second exhibition trial) I was really disgusted, close to deleting Pale Carnations (and purging it with fire), but something (perverted curiosity?) kept me going - only to be rewarded with (in my opinion) one of the most satisfying and cathartic scenes ever.

The whole "exhibition scene" with its build-up (Kathleen mercilessly tormenting Lucy and Veronica) and ensuing retaliation (Veronica putting Kathleen in her place) was simply brilliant.

Kudos to the devs for creating something so refreshingly out of the ordinary, a true adult visual novel, which surely stands out in a sea of bland, interchangeable and juvenile lewd fantasies.

Even after finishing (the current version of) Pale Carnations, I’m still unsure what to make of it, but it definitely didn’t leave me cold.

The experience has been disgusting, enjoyable and fascinating - or in Hana’s words: "Pretty fucked up".

Now, if you’ll excuse me - I think I need to readjust my moral compass…

You don't how thrilled I am to hear that **spoiler** scene landed exactly how I hoped with at least one person, put in the exact term the scene was built from the ground up to achieve - catharsis.

Adding to the animation discussion:

I don't think full-fleshed animations are necessary to create appealing lewd scenes.
They also require a lot of time and resources, which in my opinion is better spend on more frequent releases.

While I'm not a fan of 2-render "animations", the lewd scenes in Pale Carnations are good (hot) enough as they are, especially those with Felicia (damn, that woman) and the girl-on-girl action.

I think you came up with a good compromise by increasing the transitions.

No worries there. All five heroines (Rosalind, Felicia, Veronica, Mina, and Hana) will have their own share of debauched (and diverse) content as the story progresses. It's just Mina will take a little more time to organically get there compared to the three women freely taking part in what's basically sexual Fear Factor.

In chapter 2 there are key points that will let you enter or skip a heroine's route altogether.
Once you enter a route, they'll be jumping off points to leave that route throughout the remaining chapters, until it either culminates into a romantic ending at the end of chapter 5 or an amicable parting. There's no harem ending to be had, but there will be a couple of crossover scenes between the routes for group content goodness. Also, you won't be "punished" for pursuing multiple routes, but you will eventually have to choose who, if anyone, you want to end up with.

No harem ending, huh? Well, can't say I'm not disappointed, but I'm still very interested to see what you have planned to "compensate" as it were. Thinking of becoming a patron honestly, very positively surprised by you guys' work!

Yes, there's **at least* a couple of bad endings already in the outline, with maybe more if we find places to put good ones.
Personally I'm a HUGE fan of bad endings in visual novels, provided they're done right. That is, if they actually enhance the story and provide additional information/context to the setting as a whole. A good example of that is Amane's bad ending in the Angelic Howl Route in Grisaia no Kajitsu, if you're familiar with that one. It was emotionally potent, but it also gave away a key plot item that you couldn't gleam elsewhere. That was also my favorite thing about Fate/Stay Night. All the logically-sound bad endings that you actually get to see play out in brutal detail.

I love, love, LOVE bad endings that go beyond fade-to-black-you-fucked-up and hope to include some good ones down the road.

I am also a big fan of Sei Shoujo characters like Mamiya Marie, if you put some of her in Kathleen it will be a 11/10 for me .

You'll see plenty of Kathleen, I promise. Apart from hosting each week's exhibition matches (and being my personal favorite character to write), she plays a key role in one specific ending. That means you can expect scenes from her, with the MC, with varying levels of boss-bitch.

Marie from Starless, Michiko from Closed GAME, and just that specific arch-type generally found in Sei Shoujo/Empress games, is indeed what I'm going for with her. I hope you'll enjoy her content.
