As for the bizarre comment, I usually avoid games that give me a hint that they're going to resort to one-sided humiliation and exploitation. I like my games where both partners are enjoying themselves even if it's due to exterior factors like mind control or repeated exposure to sex. This one just makes me feel bad for exploiting the women in it. But that's not a bad thing, it's a sign of good writing if a story can make you feel something when it's conveying it's story. I've played plenty of games with similar concepts but they're usually not as good as this one in causing me to feel emotionally invested in the stories and characters.

I find it quite plausible. This game has a fairly unusual take on corruption in that it emphasizes the way corruption damages the people it touches. PC doesn't skimp on the sexy fun times, but it also portrays the 'normalizing' of those fun times as a worrying thing, for the MC as much as for the girls.
I think it's an excellent take since I'm very invested in a game about coercion and humiliation, which normally I would want no part of. Indeed, I'm still a bit nervous about where it will all end up. But I trust TD and GIL to walk the tightrope through to the end.

Pretty much this. Usually "corruption games" start with a protagonist who is already a pervert and pretty much a teenager rapist and a bunch of women who fall in love at the first sight of his 40cm "bad dragon" dick.
So they are pretty simplistic on this aspect when compared to the time the developers put into all the blackmailing stuff and the guilty associated with having to participate in the "games" for some of the parts involved: the carnations and Edwin mostly - Kathleen and "uncle" Joe couldn't give a shit.

Most people have their favourite kink but can sometimes enjoy othr different kinks if the story is well written. For myself I am not into BDSM but accept that other are. I admit that PC is pushing my boundaries of what I like but I am so far enjoying the developing story. I think this has been brought up before, but I feel the reason why some people find PC so striking is because its corruption is of Edwin more so than any of the main girls (so far). He’s a Pre-med student who is kinda just floating through life at the beginning of the game and questions who and what he really is morally. All of a sudden, he’s thrust into this world of temptation and debauchery, with no filter whatsoever. This makes him uneasy and excited at the same time, duality of man type stuff. The beauty of what is being done with PC is that it’s the player themselves that gets asked these questions, what would they do in this situation? What is and isn’t right, and what is and isn’t justifiable? That’s the greatness of PC in my opinion, but some people may find it uncomfortable to be asked such things.

If it is the VN I think you talk about, I agree definitely! That was really a WTF stunt, esp. since there was enough time to do both. Forcing to choose one, when the situation allows for you or helpers to do both options is something that should not make school! I am sure we will not see something similar in PC. What we have seen so far is absolutely great and the choices have impact, but are not forced by Deus Ex.

Sometimes i like watching girls 'interact' with other guys in games while being male mc and sometimes i dont but i cant play this game further after hana first scene lol but nvm i guess we will see what devs are planning on the next update

Similar here. While as a hobby writer I understand his reasoning for making that scene, I do not agree with him on it. The fire was not so severe, the circumstances of it allowed for pulling out both downed persons. Forcing the players to choose just one person to save, when it is obvious that both can be pulled out in time, is a serious WTF. The maker of that VN could have chosen to make us pulling out the people based on who we like more first, to make a heart decision here. While I know HEA cannot be in every story, forcing drama by Deus Ex from the writer like this soured my opinion of that creators VNs.
That is why I like Pale Carnations so much, even if some themes shown are not my cuppa tea and I speed through them if I need to do them for the playthrough. You have the choice of more natural options, some shut off the other, but that is logically done. You can go one way or the other, but you are not forced to choose a specific option knowing the situation allows for more.
Take e.g. TD1900 ´s version of how Edwin can help Rosi get the loan sharks of her back for a couple weeks. You have several persons you can ask to help and some of these options are only available if you relation scores are good enough! Additionally, even if you can ask, in some cases these helpers want something for themselves or you have to haggle to get the help free. Furthermore, who you choose in the end will impact your MCs story down the road, it has different "touches" of how the story will play out if you for example ask
