Word on the street is that there's a new Dev Diary out this week and it somehow leaked to F95. I can neither confirm nor deny this rumor, but I do happen to have some updated numbers for my spreadsheets, so we might as well run through them, right? Hang on, what's that over there, far from this post? Is that Felicia in a *very* revealing body suit?! Better check it out!
Oh, never mind, I guess it was just a trick of the light. Weird.
Anyway, new numbers. As you are no doubt hearing here first, TD and GIL completed 206 statics, 13 animations and 5362 words in the 21 days between the latest dev diaries. That's an average of about 69 statics, 4.3 animations and 1790 words per week, give or take a significant figure. That brings the overall average to ~97 statics, 2.7 animations and 2270 words per week since work on Chapter 4 Update 4 began. Here are the charts for Week 22:
As TD would no doubt have noted if we had somehow seen his diary, this is going to be quite a large update. It's also, as of yesterday, had the longest development time so far. The two are obviously linked, though looking at the charts it doesn't seem like volume of art alone is driving the timeline. (It would be interesting to see how the word count for this update compares with the larger updates before TD started reporting that metric, but my guess is it would be a similar ratio to the art numbers.) It could be that the devs have had less time overall to work on the game (holidays can certainly have that effect), but from what TD has said I suspect it has more to do with the update having a lot of moving parts.

Well, I can't wait for the upcoming update. I'm sure our favourite devs will favourably impress us as usual with some unexpected but very good turn of events.
Anyway, since our connoisseur bro prompted here black painted nails on Hana's feet, I can't help but fancy and imagine a couple of nice moments between our Edwin hero and 2 of my favourite heroines, namely:
- a scene where Edwin is painting Hana's feet nails on Edwin's apartment couch (black colour, of course);
- a scene where Edwin is painting Mina's feet nails on Mina's bed at her apartment (rose colour, of course).

I'm not really sadistic at all, but I relate to the "being ill at ease with his base desires," part, which is probably why I kept going through the discomfort of the unsavory bits. And for some reason I feel like sharing, so it's storytime.
My sexuality was always too strong and felt like something external rather than part of me, and as a result it felt like something was reaching into my head and forcefully twisting my thoughts, usually in directions I didn't like. Like being violated by my own biological impulses, it made me feel dirty and hate myself. I had fantasies about cutting off my balls, and it wasn't some extreme masochistic shit but just wanting to be free of it. I developed a distaste for sexuality itself rather than just my own, which I never understood how much was because of that and how much is just based in the reality that the deepest darkness in humanity is almost always connected to sex. I think I managed to mostly explore and get over that, but how common creeps are still makes my stomach churn to think about.
I actually used to use indulging in porn and such as a means of punishing myself, using the feeling of degradation and self-loathing it brought about. I didn't really fix anything either. I eventually started taking a medication that had a side effect for me of greatly diminishing my libido, which was a tremendous relief for me. It weakened to the point where I felt like I was in control, not it. I guess because it was a pretty major struggle in my life, I developed a pretty strong interest in stories that explore sexuality as a theme without pussyfooting around the specifics. I am not the same as the MC, but I can't help but relate to a sexual internal darkness that you develop a morbid fascination with and have trouble looking away from even if you don't like it.
