It's due to a dumb decision to mark games as abandoned if a new update wasn't made after a set period of time.

One could say it's the lazy method just because marking games proper would require some work (like checking if the dev managed to delay frequent updates multiple times or if this is the very first time) and pirates aren't that famous to work, right?

Game devs are often working barely 2 hours... per month.
And yet get a full salary, while not working for the remaining 718 hours of the month.
Then they don't release an update for 18 months (!!!) and it gets marked abandoned by the moderators.

You have a big mouth to talk nonsense don't you? why don't you inform yourself better and see that my game doesn't have any sponsor or anything like that, so I don't receive any penny for the game. I asked to be marked as such (abandoned), because I have to dedicate myself more to my real work in order to earn money. Besides, it has only been 5 months at the most since the last update, that's why I guess Porn_Jesus thought it was weird.
So it's not fair that you generalize and say that devs are lazy and criticize the ones who do something at least and share their work with this community.
It's because of people like you that I get more and more discouraged from share my work here.

Sunshine, I spent several hours each day on a Discord server, being a Mod there too. Also manage the chat room and general questions on Patreon and look for questions on itch.io too. Guess what, I don't get paid for all that either and have a RL job like most people.

So who looks really dumb now?


Oh and for the wording: Abandoned, on hold, slow updates, etc. Wow, took me like what, five seconds to find better wording than just call it abandoned.

I work on average on my game a total of 5 hours a day. Sometimes a lot more, sometimes less, and for that I get a full salary of... 60 dollars...
Yeah, there are some who earn a lot more and others a lot less. But that doesn't give you the right to talk shit right here. What a great idea on your part to talk nonsensical trash right in the post of a developer who doesn't monetize his content. Good job buddy... keep it up.

The development might be slow but I enjoyed playing a bit of 0.4.0 winter last year and I plan to chceck this thread from time to time.

The comment was very explicitly targeted at the quoted statement about the management of this forum, which would be "lazy" just because the site has a rule for abandoned games, and the moderators making full use of this rule.

While in reality, this forum has a very active and professional moderator work. Even if i don't agree with all decisions or even rules.



I also haven't aimed the comment at the developer of this game specifically - or at all - and if you just occasionally follow the most financially successful game devs, you know that they can impossibly work on their game for more than 2 hours per month.

Because if a game gets 1 update with maybe 1 scene per year, this would mean that they had worked 52 weeks *2 hours = 104 hours on that one scene. And some surrounding dialogue worth maybe 15 minutes of playtime, made with already existing busts.

Which already seems like quite a stretch, and means they were particularily inefficient or incompetent about it. And as mentioned, getting a fat paycheck by Patreon for it.

For comparison, professional freelancers are making 1-2 complete games in that same year. Because they get paid for finishing work, rather than *not* finishing work for as long as possible, until F95zone... you know.... adds the "Abandoned" tag.

Friend, don't pay attention to people like that, I started writing a fanfic story and although the process is fun, it is hard and takes a lot of time, not to mention creating a game with excellent quality like yours, those that the only thing that They know how to play and criticize, they are simply stupid who do not understand the work involved in doing something with quality without receiving any type of benefit.

I understand the need to focus on your real work. I hope eventually you are able to return to this as it's definetly one of the games I've enjoyed the most from this site. I will keep an eye on it incase you are able to return to it someday.

Thanks friends, I could never really recover financially after the surgery I had, that practically drained my bank account.
So for the moment I will dedicate myself to generate money, and I will work very little in the game.

The mark abandoned is only to not keep the followers waiting any soon, I don't know how much but, the update will take quite a while.
