I sure hope so. I'm old and drama just pisses me off. Even in a AVN I do not have much tolerance for it. But every plot needs some drama.

I'm a fan of slow-burners myself, and I disagree. Most of the girls were already present in Paradise Lust 1, so the relationships with them have already been established, meaning it shouldn’t be a surprise that we see sex scenes early on.
It's a different matter with the new girls—Jack has to develop relationships with them first. Out of the five new girls, only three have scenes so far (Mina in the current beta version), and none of them have a penetration scene yet. So there isn't "jump to porn" from the start.
The romance system has been replaced by storytelling. You can still flirt with the girls, but their events are no longer locked behind relationship point requirements.
I agree with that, and I pointed it out in my feedback. The mystery aspect in PL1 was great, and it's something PL2 is lacking.
I don't think it specifically has to be mystery, but at least a more general sense of danger and uncertainty. And maybe that's what the plot with the weird French guy is gonna be?
Anyway nice update with Emi. I hope in the future we get to also romance Ryoko~
BTW question, what year does this game take place in and how old is MC supposed to be?

"PL1 begins in second half of January, three weeks after 31.12.2020 (though, I don't know why on boarding card there is DES and not DEC) which gives us 21.01.2021 Thursday. But in the game, Day 1 is in Sunday so PL1 probably stars at 24.01.2021. I believe it's reasonable to assume, that PL1 lasts for around 9 months, so Rob is rescued by the end of October. If we add 6 months period between PL1 and PL2, then we can assume PL2 starts on April 2022."
About Jack's age. I think he mentioned in Paradise Lust 2 that he is 24.
Weird, so he's actually closer in age to Emi than Cath. And even farther away from Tori than I thought. Didn't expect that.

Been following since the beginning updates of Paradise Lust 1; my broke ass finally became un-broke enough to buy Paradise Lust 2 today

What do you mean? Do you have examples? I did not have bugs i remember in PL 1, and cant think of any bugs in 2.

Yeah, I would put Jack around 26-27 years old, and 25-26 in Paradise Lust 1.
Cath is 28 in PL2, Emi is 19 so even if Jack is 24 then he is still closer to Cath than Emi.
I don't know which build did you play but Paradise Lust 1 is very stable in comparison to other games. Even Paradise Lust 2 and Sinners Landing are quite solid despite being in heavy development phase.

Lesse... next up is Emi & Ryoko (November), then Jenn & Andrea (hopefully December). After that, we'll finally get to have some happy times with Luana, and the end of Mina's PL2 storyline (who's turned into on of the two core LIs of Paradise Lust 2).

Oct 29th (Halloween) is when the next chunk moves from Beta to default branch. The content's complete already; we're now working on the November and December content (there's only 22 days between Autumn and Winter sales, so it'll be tighter than Emi's asshole).
Confused how you're saying he's 26-27 in the same second you share that image of his being 24.
Done already? That feels a lot shorter than the character storyline in part 1, no?
Paradise Lust 1 was 3 years in development (from starting to public 'full' release, not counting the 4 additional bonus updates); Paradise Lust 2 aims at 2 years, with public release sometime around spring 2025, after which point that team will start on a new project, hopefully Paradise Lust 3. In addition we'll probably do the same kind of bonus updates for another year (so 4 new scenes for Summer/Autumn/Winter/Spring sales).
3 years was honestly too long; it meant we couldn't fully fix game design issues that we knew about, because the game's structure was already set. The obvious pain in the ass (literally, in Karen's case), was the decision that each girl would have 4 'love' tiers, each with a sex scene associated with it. It meant that the girls introduced late in the game (like Grace and Rachel) had their events feel 'rushed', and some characters (*cough* Karen) got more TLC than she really needed. It also meant that some repeating minigames (fishing, bartending) overstayed their welcome, because they were needed to generate Sex$.
Paradise Lust 2 let us change some of the mechanics, remove all the grind people hated, reset the resort and set up another storyline.
Edit: I said 4 years, but that was Love of Magic (Dec 2019-Sept 2023). Paradise Lust 1 was 3 years (June 2020-May 2023), while Paradise Lust is aimed at 2 years (June 2023-April or May 2025).
