Paradise Lust 1 was 3 years in development (from starting to public 'full' release, not counting the 4 additional bonus updates); Paradise Lust 2 aims at 2 years, with public release sometime around spring 2025, after which point that team will start on a new project, hopefully Paradise Lust 3. In addition we'll probably do the same kind of bonus updates for another year (so 4 new scenes for Summer/Autumn/Winter/Spring sales).

3 years was honestly too long; it meant we couldn't fully fix game design issues that we knew about, because the game's structure was already set. The obvious pain in the ass (literally, in Karen's case), was the decision that each girl would have 4 'love' tiers, each with a sex scene associated with it. It meant that the girls introduced late in the game (like Grace and Rachel) had their events feel 'rushed', and some characters (*cough* Karen) got more TLC than she really needed. It also meant that some repeating minigames (fishing, bartending) overstayed their welcome, because they were needed to generate Sex$.

Paradise Lust 2 let us change some of the mechanics, remove all the grind people hated, reset the resort and set up another storyline.

Edit: I said 4 years, but that was Love of Magic (Dec 2019-Sept 2023). Paradise Lust 1 was 3 years (June 2020-May 2023), while Paradise Lust is aimed at 2 years (June 2023-April or May 2025).
Paradise lust 3 will actually be a thing:oops:
You guys have any others plans in the future of other games or is going to be Sinners landing+Paradise lust in the future?

Hopefully ;) We've certainly got plans and dreams, and thoughts based on things that worked and things that didn't work in PL1 & 2.

I think over time there might be a third series, if it makes sense financially. We'll see; right now we're happy with two teams; feels like it's working really well, and production is nice and smooth.

I'm starting to think that Paradise Lust 3 will be less of a sequel to Paradise Lust 2 and more like episode 2 of Paradise Lust 2.

Paradise Lust 1 is a complete story about castaways on the island, with all the character arcs fully resolved. Sure, there's room to continue those stories, which is what Paradise Lust 2 does, but after finishing Paradise Lust 1, there's a strong sense of closure. Nothing would be lost if there hadn't been a sequel at all ( except that I’d be eternally sad :(). I have a feeling that this won’t be the case with Paradise Lust 2, and that Paradise Lust might start moving more toward an episodic series format.

And maybe this is a smarter business approach: creating shorter seasons or episodes instead of full games. On Steam, I see many games with "Season 1" in their titles (and no one knows when series will be completed).

The downside to this approach is that seasons or episodes often aren’t standalone stories, and there's a risk that at some point, the series might simply remain unfinished.

The goal is that each characters storyline closes properly; obviously the *big* one ("Jack growing up and becoming the Man of the House") remains ongoing, but things like Mina's opening Arc, Scarlett's arc and Emi's debut arc will all close. The next game has a different theme and a different challenge, and some girls transitioning out and others (and new ones) returning.

I often make the point that I write epic fantasy (Love of Magic / Morningstar / WoE), while Chase writes sitcoms. The stuff I write myself will build to a crescendo and then *end*. I don't think any Flexible Media games will ever end with something like the ending of Love of Magic; it goes against Chase's understanding of stories, and so I happily leave him to guide that.

I'm on the task where I'm supposed to call Reyna from my hut at night, but I cannot for the life of me figure out how to make a call, only text. Am I just missing a simple menu selection or something?

Go to your hut at night (as late as possible) and click on the laptop and you'll video call her.

Do the devs have a progress tracker? I mean something like: is it like 10% done, or 90% done?
Better don't have. Cause shit like that often makes unnecessary expectations and ends up disappointing. I mean, I think the devs of this game are releasing their updates within a fairly fixed schedule. So you don't really have to worry.

As in progress to game complete, or update complete? For updates, we post continuously on Discord, and beta branch updates periodically. This month's a little weird, as a big update came in quite early (we've been focused on Autumn and Winter builds the last month). October release should be out on Monday on the default branch.

If the question is more "how close to the GAME is complete"; we intend to keep to our current cadence (a release every 4-6 weeks), and plan to finish Q2 2025, so another 7 months or so. After that we'll take the lessons learned, and start on the next game. Like with Paradise Lust 1 there will also be free DLC post-launch (probably 4 additional events over the next year to keep the game fresh on Steam).
