I have just about the entire game already written story wise. There is just so much to do that it takes a while. I have been adding an achievement system and a sort of quest menu so people will have an idea of mainline stuff they can do. Those reasons and getting off medication has put it on a major stall. I have been working on it again though.
One of the problems I was having was the game is too big size-wise with the videos to be able to be hosted on many game websites. Even fairly optimized (Webm and handbrake). I have been working on the workaround of just hosting through CDN. But that causes other issues-mainly load times seemingly fixed by preloading videos (currently testing this).
It's a bit annoying but I feel like the game itself needs work before the story can expand more. This amount of work feels like a thankless job at times lol but I want to make something cool ya know
i agree with what the original poster mentioned. start slow before exspanding into other avenues. first get the base game set and ready
things like repeatable events/areas done be it a job, the basic sexual encounters (porn, prostitutes etc), and shops. stripe it back to base so you can remake it to your liking
while at the same time not skpiming on the early game technical/mechanics as that will cary you from then on out (you had the system but the how needed some tweaking).
you already have the story and special aspect that made the game stand out. but as you lacked a base for it to play on it showed. so stay with that one main character for a good while before switching up the pov's. have him easy us into the system and world before we start jumping bodys.
with that being said when it dos come to the story. i suggest only re implementing the start for now. max first week. before you can truly expand on the game storyline i suggest starting by first fully setting up the family dynamic at home and the friend group at school with a few random people around town like the voodoo shop owner. set their schedual, daily actions and even give them one or two events be it book related or not. nothing to much but enough to give yourself avenues to work with
also for your image/file size issue. i suggest just using base vides for now. instead of those SUPER fancy ones you have going. its easier, less time consuming, and should takes up less space as now your just using the standard gif images. leave those really good ones for once you know your game can take it
