Apologizes for any confusion,
the page was unfortunately taken down temporary due to a violation of the Patreon TOS rules, which we have since rectified.
The patreon page is now back up. However, there are going to be a few changes. You may have noticed the free censored lewd teasers have been locked behind a paywall along with the news, (this was the quickest way to resolve the issue.)

From now on, any lewd teaser, be it censored or fully uncensored is going to be locked behind being a patron/subscribestar etc, respectively.

News will still be free, alongside SFW teasers, but the spicy stuff is going to be reserved for paying members.

Alderian News!

Hey guys! :),

it's more urgent that ever now! If you haven't already, please wishlist Parasite Black over on steam! With the release just a month and a bit away, we need YOUR help! Link to the steam page here:

We're in the thick of it right now with the latest update, implementing and testing as we go. Things are going well, and everyone is pushing 100%, hopefully, the entire Mika quest line should be fully implemented soon within the next couple days, then, I just need to hand over the build to our current playtesting team to help with bug-hunting!

Still chopping through the combat, but we're getting through it piece by piece! The deadlines are tight, but things are so far going according to plan!

I'd just like to say thank you to everyone for helping to get us this far,
we're super thrilled with the way the game is shaping up, and none of it would be possible without you guys and your support!
I wish I could talk about more but,

Hey all,
A bit of news, the initially planned Mika update is being merged into the steam release update. It was decided doing so would be more impactful for the release, and, would give us a little more time in between to work on the balancing and various other elements.
We're very pleased so far with how things are shaping up, and we are still on-track with the big deadline.

A few things being added or worked on for context:
-Mages of Palam content (specifically just Mika in this case due to time restraints)
-The end of Act 1 - this includes lewd scenes with Regina and a couple other characters, dependent on choices.
-Travel camp lewd content. Now, while resting in your camp along your travels, there's a chance of a companion joining you in your tent for the evening.
-Combat, another big rework to reduce lag, add various different skills, balancing, actually being able to transform into the Parasite in combat etc.
-Other QOL improvements and revamping of remainder of old art, improved sfx, and fx.
It's definitely a little chaotic right now for us, but we think the end result is going to be something you guys really enjoy!

So, TLDR: Yep, we're still alive and still cookin' :p

I've seen it almost happen once actually. Announcement for it came out of nowhere, and then it got so much negative feedback that the dev flip-flopped back to Ren'Py. Surprise surprise, that game has since been abandoned.
Yeah, that just sounds like a huge mistake for that developer to have even considered.

Personally, I have no problem whatsoever with games being in RPGM (though only if it makes sense). In fact, I could definitely argue that this game should've been made in RPGM in the first place. There's already a built-in fighting system that can include things for healing, dealing special damage (like for a critical hit or damage over time), and so on. The developers of this game unnecessarily reprogrammed what came out-of-the-box in RPGM, which seems like a big waste of time and effort. And in RPGM you can even skip over most (if not all) of the world travel screens, as at least one other game does (which I can't mention here b/c of site rules). You can keep things in more of a visual-novel style, so that it would very much reflect a typical VN. (Although, let's be fair: this is not even remotely a VN.) I see no reason why this had to be made in Ren'Py, especially given some of the really high quality images you see in RPGM games today.

All of that said, though, if you've already set up everything in Ren'Py, converting this makes no sense. With things set up and programmed as detailed as they are at this point, you're just wasting more time and resources that you could use to further the game's overall progress. That's just heaping another mistake onto the pile; are you trying to get the game abandoned?

Sounds like Parasite Black should've been made in Unity then. A bigger learning curve, but at least they can customize the combat to their liking. And emulating Ren'py features seems simple enough.

We did consider Unity in the early days, none of us fully grasped quite the undertaking we were starting back then, haha,
but we didn't go with unity at the time partly because there was a growing resentment of unity, and this was BEFORE the unity price scandal even broke, with a lot of people arguing a lot of games were made unnecessarily in Unity when renpy could have handled it. (It's kinda funny the gauntlet has swung the other way now),

But at a certain point, once you're dug in and settled, and you're as far as we are with the game, we couldn't really afford more staff shake-ups and to rebuild from the start with more delays and such. (We had issues already with some coders and artists leaving, which left us on a lurch.)

Now, in RETROSPECT, would I have still gone with renpy? I don't know, I might have considered GODOT, but I probably would have avoided unity given the lack of customer faith they currently have.

The hardest challenge honestly has been finding coders up to the job. A lot of coders, at least the ones who do adult game dev work, get very flaky and unreliable with games at this kind of depth/level.

i don't suppose with tge full game there is any possiable way of impregnating Elena?
You will be able to impregnate Elena eventually.

how? i unlocked all 3 scenes but none did or should i finish the game?

Hey guys, :)

So the big announcement is we've delayed the steam launch to December 9th, we didn't make the decision lightly, but, we've felt this was the best way to ensure we had the highest quality launch available.

We're right in the midst now of balancing and improving combat further, as well as integrating a lot of the new stuff, many fun things are to come!

New content, art revamping, and lots of little changes here and there. I will give some more detailed news soon once we've managed to cut through some more of this work.
