Let's be honest: If you did read first page of comments for game, you didn't haven writing 90% info what you wrote. Developer said clear: INSPIRED BY PARASIT INSIDE. So I don't see anything bad about use similar (NOT SAME) way to make gameplay. Don't like it? Fine, don't play. It's simple! Nobody here don't forcing you play in what you don't like. And your provocation not work on peoples who juding by gameplay, not by look. Also, you forgot what it's 0.1 version. So it's like pre-alpha. Of course something is temporary and need to rework or polish. And instead blaming dev in copy - past, change intonation, calm your emotions and accept game as it's with all flaws. Seriouly, game development it's art. Not a conveyor. Everyone creating something as he or she can.
It's a complete ripoff. Stop shilling for unoriginal people trying to pass off someone else's game. You sound, and look, stupid when you try to defend a blatant ripoff. The "author" of the game decided to steal everything from another author, that actually put work into the game.

I bet this piece of crap ripoff stops at the exact same spot as the original game does.

Dude, I don’t even know how to talk with u when wall is clearly white and u keep yelling it’s red lol. There’s a big diff between “inspired” and straight up copy paste. When 90% of mechanics, scenes, UI and even the freakin’ game name all look the same as another game in same genre, setting and style – bruh, it ain’t that hard to see what’s goin’ on.

If those ideas came from different games and were actually blended into something fresh – cool, no problem. But here? It’s just too obvious. And kinda wild you tryna convince people otherwise.

Also, if dev just replied “yep” when asked if it’s similar to PI… that’s more like “yeah now leave me alone,” not really a solid defense, ya know?

Tbh, I do think the Parasite Echo dev got potential. Like, I noticed the knife wasn’t for combat, it’s like a rework of the multitool idea from PI – it opens doors, that’s actually clever! So clearly dude can make cool stuff… just weird choice to copy so much instead of build somethin’ original.

Yeah, inspired by means generally taking one or two elements and putting a new twist on it. Inspired by does not mean "ripped from"

Let's not mistake the two.

The developer needs to identify what exactly creates the feeling of copying — and rethink it. This is what everyone in the game industry does: they take existing ideas and rework them so that they fit naturally into their world and minimize any sense of imitation. That’s totally fine. But what’s currently in the game just screams “copy.” Maybe that was intentional — I don’t know.

What stands out positively and feels original:
The dialogues, the intro, the knife mechanic, and the equipment system in the menu (I did find it a bit frustrating that the game doesn’t pause — I was running around with a knife, and when the monster showed up, I wanted to take a moment to check it out. But it started attacking, and only after that I realized the knife wasn’t the best option. Switching to the gun took several seconds — which, during combat, makes a big difference)

As it stands, the game gives off a strong "copy" vibe. If that was the creative direction on purpose, fair enough — but it’s probably not for me. If it’s more a case of not realizing how close it feels to another game, then I really hope the dev takes a step back and rethinks some of the elements. The game is still in an early stage, and there’s plenty of opportunity for it to grow into something truly unique. I hope it does...

I'm having trouble extracting to a normal folder to play the game, Windows 11 won't let me download it, not even with WinRAM can I do it

Intentional or otherwise, copyright infringement is... Well, copyright infringement. And should the original creator(s) find someone has so obviously copied their work (even poorly), they can have it taken down. There is no problem taking inspiration from something already existing but this is taking the piss.

I'd also like to point out that while I just know without a shadow of doubt someone will point out the "irony of us discussing this on a pirate forum" or something to that effect, I'd also like to note that just because this is a place that like-minded pirates converge, does not mean that we do not support development of actual good titles and/or products.

Well… I didn’t really know before what exactly copyright protects.
I used to think it was just about copying music, text, or images.
But after talking to ChatGPT, I realized there are actually a lot of elements that fall under copyright protection.

It was especially interesting to learn that even identical scene composition can be protected. Also, things like UI and gameplay interface mechanics.

Phew. It's getting hot in here.
