The developer needs to identify what exactly creates the feeling of copying — and rethink it. This is what everyone in the game industry does: they take existing ideas and rework them so that they fit naturally into their world and minimize any sense of imitation. That’s totally fine. But what’s currently in the game just screams “copy.” Maybe that was intentional — I don’t know.
What stands out positively and feels original:
The dialogues, the intro, the knife mechanic, and the equipment system in the menu (I did find it a bit frustrating that the game doesn’t pause — I was running around with a knife, and when the monster showed up, I wanted to take a moment to check it out. But it started attacking, and only after that I realized the knife wasn’t the best option. Switching to the gun took several seconds — which, during combat, makes a big difference)
As it stands, the game gives off a strong "copy" vibe. If that was the creative direction on purpose, fair enough — but it’s probably not for me. If it’s more a case of not realizing how close it feels to another game, then I really hope the dev takes a step back and rethinks some of the elements. The game is still in an early stage, and there’s plenty of opportunity for it to grow into something truly unique. I hope it does...
