Mean what it say, you need to download RPG make VX Ace RTP system in order to play it (if you already have it downloaded, you need to put the game folder and launch the game from the same hard drive you installed it on)
For info, RTP is basically something that contain all the basics asset files of RPG maker likes tiles, basic monsters and npc, sounds, etc... so that you don't have to download it each time you want to play a new game, just install it once and be done with it

So you ACTUALLY checked in Graphics\Characters, and ACTUALLY saw the said "asset" there, right?
Like so:
I checked both the version in the OP and the one shared by Stompai a few posts back, and they seem to be in order. Unless something major eff-up didn't happen on your end during the download and/or unzipping process, they should work.
And since the game wasn't whining about RTP not being installed, that couldn't be the reason...
So I would redownload and extract again, first and foremost.

Anyone know how to fix controls? I had to reset them because X didn't work, and now I can't get the American scheme back (Z and C swapped). The options may as well be in cryptographs, because none of it does anything, and I copied the whole game folder over with the original again and it's still fucked up. Wherever it saves controls, I can't find it.
that's almost exactly what i said. there are alot of good JRPG games that are "translated" and Machine translated but are still almost unplayable. its ok with the more RPG like games but the story/VN kind of games really dont work without a human translator who speaks English well

is there anyway to revert the language back to JP?

I don't know I just wish there was a butt ton more. There's just not enough out there as far as I'm concerned.
I guess I'm not part of the majority cus I HATE RPGM and the lag. If anyone is interested there is this great external FPS boaster program... if only I can remember where I got it...Because most of us love exhibitionist games made in RPGM
I don't know. isn't there a some sort of saying that the mind plays a big part in getting turned on? I know I need a good story to get me going. I can't read hentai or watch it without knowing whats going on. but your right with exhibition context is king.
