Most things seem to be working well, it's just... getting the station infection up is so fucking tiring.

You can use a save editor to edit the pollution.sav; 200 is about ~75% which will let octolings spawn. However...

i tried to be defeated by baby octopus but just end up in the nest instead of being a cult

Octolings are currently bugged and applying the wrong pregnancy (eggs instead of infestation)

You can actually kind of sneak around this by playing in version 2.1.4, getting infested, saving before it takes over, and loading the save in 2.1.6

But this almost certainly breaks who knows what else. Or, those things are already broken... hard to say with this game half the time.

the menu gets stuck on the screen, but cannot upgrade anything.

reloading saves makes all followers, current objectives disappear.
lost the location of the COMMS device when i reloaded the save. rip game. probably softlocked myself

How to save in this game? Previously, you could lie down on any bed at any time and rest, so that your progress would be preserved and you could leave. Now this is not available.

I think you can't get it right now. When I finally got the small fuckers to spawn and chatch Sarah, it bugged and nothing happened to her. Might be a bug on my side but considering this games history with bugs, I think we'll have to wait until the next bugfix.

Please share it.
I've only found a few baby octopus after an hour of running around, and it's near impossible to kill the crabs they spawn with without killing them accidentally.

Just found this game and tried to tinker with it a little bit:
- From 2.1.6 to 2.1.2, 2.1.2 seems to be most stable for nps interactions
- Pregnancy type is stored in Saveslot.sav
- Survivorslot.sav doesn't open with browser save editors
- 2.1.6 seems to erase all survivors npc after saveload, so 2.1.5 is better for trying cultist route
Have not played through available cultist route jet, but to start get at least 8 survivors in bases in version 2.1.4 or older, get infested with baby octopus(they start to spawn around day 8-10 in poluted enough areas as reinforcement for crab roar), load in 2.1.5, proceed through infestation, infest other survivors....

Are the animations for baby octopus takeover actually in the game or is it just one of the many, many bugs in this game that when I lose to one, my character gets softlocked in place to a default face forward animation until fadeout?

hmm, in 2.18
when becoming a cultist. you cannot sleep
it will remove the baby octo and soft lock the Sarah back into survivor
and if you try to get back the baby octo status it will result in game over regardless of broken heart or not

when that happens
the only cultist skill that works is the makes monsters not attack you
and
Recovery to eat food normally
