I like it it was a good set up with interesting threads.

I agree author needs to clean up the English cause right now I can't tell whose relationship is to whom? Like it sounds like MC & Rosie are stepsiblings?

It's annoying when there is too much going on that the character knows that the reader doesn't. I hate reverse dramatic irony in interactive novels so hopefully that's kept to a minimum.

Love the models. Rosie, Amanda, Agnes all beautiful. Even the MC is super handsome without looking like a tool (though dude button up your shirt more rofl)

Why everytime I like a LI she is always the one that gives the most trouble? (Yes, I'm talking about Yola)

Renders good, but please find some clothes for Rob, he can't go around wearing those shorts.

2 things:
- Why MC is always the only character with amnesia? Why the blondie remembers everything about us but we don't recognise her?
- I don't understand why he should leave everything behind and return home. I understand something has happened, but there's no real reason for him to abandon the life he was living. There should be an additional motivation (for example, the sister is 10 years old and he needs to take care of her), but as things stand, he sells the house, the sister moves in with the aunt, and he goes back to where he came from.

Hey guys! Thank you all for trying out my VN!
As a newbie developer, it is a pleasant surprise that many of you have already discussed and commented on Past Tense.

I am sure some of you guys have a lot of questions, some of the answers are actually there in the dialogues. But there are also some questions that I really can't give you the answers at the moment without spoiling the story. The concept of this VN is as the story goes, the more it reveals the things that happened in the past. otherwise, the VN will not be named Past Tense.

Lastly, I just wanted to say that I really appreciate all the kind words and encouragement that you guys said, it really motivates me to keep going.

I am a huge sucker for non harem games so this one hit the spot this one has a ton of potential I am very interested in Amanda she is gorgeous by far my favorite I hope the pacing is done well and the romance is slow, excellent game thus far and its only going to get better as the developer improves with time.

This game is like Memento, I have no clue what the hell is going on. Like I get almost every vn hides some key piece of info from the reader for a twist later, thats half the fun of reading them. We're missing even the basic info that supplies any sort of context. I get thats the gimmick but I hope the next chapter starts actually explaining some of it and not just adding more story with no way for us to understand the connections. At minimum, who is this random guy we see the story as. So far my theory is he's Superman

Just played CH1.

I would say - good start.
The way the story goes - it makes me wanting/anticipating to see how it will unravel.

I have lots of questions and no answers)
Yola - after that basement scene with her and one of her goons - I dunno what to think of her, I am intrigued to say the least. And to think Yola was my pick before the start .
Or for example what happened between Amanda and MC - I'm curious, why she is so jumpy everytime she sees MC.
Backstory behind triangle Rosie/MC/MC's father is also interesting, I would like to know what happened and why MC left town in a 1st place.

BTW. As for Agnes, damn, what a knockers she has gotten. I was shocked, for some reason in my mind her model associates with small breasts hah.

Anyways, it's just the beginning, but as of right now - Angela would be my pick as a main girl, she is beautiful, kind and rich) Win-Win situation)
And so far it doesn't look like she has any mental issues or involved in any shady business which is also a bonus.

OK, decent start on first version, and I'll avoid being harsh.

I will say though, that I really dislike characters talking about major events and regrets and whatnot, while player knows nothing about what happened.
Always felt it's just cheap way to create tension.
BUT! It's first release, so whatever. There's a reason why I normally only try VNs after 2-3 versions are out.
Easier to make opinion once more content is given.

On positive side, unlike some VNs here, at least there were no choices that required knowledge not given (so it's only guesswork), only mysterious events that caused friction and nothing else.

Like girl models, and definitely bonus points for making them easily recognizable and not 90% identical, just few strands of hair being different color.
Yula - not my type, but that's on personality. Didn't think much of her on train, and seeing scene later, yeah, that's a no.
Amanda - no clue what's happening with her. Seems your standard shy, cutesy girl.
Agnes - Need to know more. Looks wise my favorite. Wonder what happened between her and MC.

Definitely need to see how 2nd version develops, because at the moment, it's all questions, no material for even guesswork.

P.S. I do hope Robert will have some role in VN, judge me all you want, I'm a sucker for good male friend characters.

I just started and its a very minor nitpick but:

Its the third avn in a row im playing which starts with a conversation between the MC and a buddy ... maybe its just me but imo thats one of the worst things to setup a story and generate interest/curiosity.

And im not one of the players who dislikes other guys existing in avns in general, its the opposite, normal guys existing makes the avn/world more immserive realistic.

BUT i have literally no interest at all in a conversation between two dudes before i even know if im into the story/characters or not. Exploring the relationships with buddys is more fitting a bit later on when some things are already established.

And the "bro", "no biggy" talk always makes me cringe a bit but thats probably just me getting old

But hearing two dudes having bro-talk is literally the most boring thing to setup a avn with imo

Hey everyone!

I don't know if I can call this a Dev-log, but I want to keep in touch with you all.

So far, the development for the second chapter is going slow, I mean actually super slow. I'm struggling to develop this because in this chapter the story is expanding, and the environments, the props, and the assets that I have to use is getting larger and heavier.

Only some of you know about this, but I've been developing Past Tense so far without a GPU. My current render time could take 2-3 hours, 1-2 hours if I use denoiser (sacrificing the quality). But now it's starting to take a toll on me. As I said before, the story is expanding, and it is really hard and heavy, also time and soul-consuming to create

This is gonna take a while, so I just want you guys to understand and be patient with me. I want to be as transparent as possible. And I don't to give you all some false hope. Past Tense is my labor of love and I really want to get it out there for you to enjoy )

Okay, wow that is pretty long... Anyway, I hope you all have a wonderful winter and holiday!
