Well, there are plenty non-incest games tho it will surely be painful for whole market. If some devs will create like 2-3 non-incest games of similiar popularity as DMD or BB, playerbase will stay on Patreon as well. I guess the only safe place for hardcore fetishes is in Japan once again

I just read that article and it still seems like they are relying on users to report devs more so than their employees. I dont see how they can suspend you for a fan made walkthrough though if your patreon release has no banned content. If anything a lot of creators may have to move to a different site now.

I guess they don't like to be fooled. Patching method wasn't very nice to begin with. But where devs can go? You need a decent site, with similiar functionality, with paypal. Without milions of starting capital you can't have a paypal and our whole "market" is so small it's barely indie level. Without some outer help and strong, new platform I see no way for devs to leave Patreon

"For us, it’s about making Patreon a welcoming home for all creators. That means that some creators won’t be [allowed] on the platform ... "
Boy oh boy. It reminds me of some of the social media sites. I wonder if it's a wise move money wise. How many people are actually turned off by porn on Patreon and refuse to use it because of that vs damage of losing costumers.

Well obviously someone did some number crunching and found this particular niche market wanting. So naturally they are going after another much more profitable one. The thing is, in the more general market some very strong competitors are coming online (kickstarter's alternative drip comes to mind).

"For us, it’s about making Patreon a welcoming home for all creators. That means that some creators won’t be [allowed] on the platform ... Over the past six months, there have been a few instances where we didn't have enough people on the Trust and Safety team, and we realized we need more people,"
So, in short:

"In order to allow everyone to use our platform, we'll not allow everyone to use it."

Genius.

I'll bet you Drip will allow adult content so long as its sweet and nice, along the lines of Spike Trotman's Smut Peddler. The kind of content popular here will be way too intense for them and too likely to draw controversy.

But if anyone in the adult games world has the resources to create a subscription website that might survive it would be MrDots. (But then if I were in his position I would have been working on it since November...)

I really hate to say it, but I'm afraid that all people inventing various cunning plans how to fool Patreon are missing the point. The "step" approach went down in flames immediately. Now we have the hiding game with secret codes and patches. If some of that is done by author, it's doomed as soon as Patreon finds out about it. So independent naughty hackers to the rescue? Or completely different (fake) project for Patreon and quietly making the original elsewhere?

Imagine yourself in their place. For whatever reason (business, morals, ...) you want to make Patreon clean. Would you tolerate people trying to fool you like this? Not for long. Any of these "solutions" are nothing that they couldn't imagine themselves. Forums like this, where it's possible to easily find the true nature of any game, are not that hard to find either. And if you want it easy, just bribe @Ignazzio to switch sides and Patreon would be completely clean in a week (don't do it!). ;)

But "naughty hackers" approach should still work, they can't prove if it's really them or game author, right? No, because they don't have to prove anything. "Hey, we're very sorry, but your game attracts bad crowd and even though we believe you that it's not your fault, it makes us look bad to be associated with that, so we regretfully have to close your account. Nothing personal, we wish you good luck elsewhere and good bye!"

Elsewhere is the key here, we just have to find the right one.

Do they really care what happens off their website? I mean they might, if they are on moral crusade, but if it's for business reasons it would make more sense to let "naughty hackers" do their thing and still get those bucks.

An alternative would be the porn industry itself. They run successful websites like Brazzers etc. and have the resources to provide a specialized platform. In one of the threads here I read the idea of pornhub opening a new branch of business. Porn games. Would be win-win-win for everyone. The porn industry would make more money, the creators find a new and better suiting place for their creations and players don't have to worry about ridiculous rules and losing their favorite adult games.

Now somebody just have to tell them...

If it's not their morals, then "business reasons" are just someone else's morals. And if whoever that is finds the "bad" game and has a reason to believe that Patreon helps to fund it, it's a problem.

Trouble is, incest and friends are only a tip of the iceberg. It's not just that anything sexual is not generally accepted, it's even worse for games. If you take regular porn, it's only a visual thing, some people fucking, no big deal. Interactive games add much more to that, they tend to contain all kinds of more or less questionable behaviour. It doesn't have to be anything drastic, just some innocent mischief (spying on someone in shower, ...), but even that could be seen as sending the wrong message. But imagine taking everything like this out, it would be no fun anymore. You'd end up with dating simulator where you have to be perfect gentleman, with possibility to end up with something fully consensual at the end. You couldn't even make MC an asshole, because someone could say you're glorifying asshole behavior. What I want to say is that porn games have difficult position from the beginning.

Pay me enough and I will give you a list of games and all their forbidden elements, discord hidden accounts, patches and how they're applied in a day:p I wold fap in tears later. In my golden Lamborgini
As for porn industry as it was said, adult games are much much more hardcore than porn. Even incest if people knew actors are really related (which is almost never a case) would creep out most people. Not to say about tentacle-futa-bestiality with a loli nun

And still you can buy premium subscription for Pornhub with Paypal.
There is a lot of incest on Pornhub.
Isn't that strange?
Maybe Pornhub should become Patreon for fetish porn games.
I think they are to strong to be bullied like Patreon. Or this is after all Patreons fight and Paypal is only excuse...

I don't think so. Even hardcore BDSM sites are nothing uncommon these days. You have sisters or even twins doing porn movies together. And I've never heard Whitney and Britney Stevens getting attacked for doing so. Not to mention those little petite girls who look underaged and do hardcore anal and stuff.

And the most valid point: like porn movies those games are not real, they are fiction. In fact, it's even more harmless since unlike porn it's not real but computer graphics.

I literally just posted the same over on the BB thread.

PornHub or somewhere similar would be much better if they could set up some sort of Patreon like model.

A place where Adult Content was already the intent of the site.

He seriously didn't even know about DMD suspension.
Well, time to warn him about the new Patreon incident and what MrDots had to come to.

I still cant believe how lazy Dark Silver was when it came to all of this. He knew, or should have known, about the enforcement of the TOS and that he would definitely be under review if he did not at least make his page vanilla. Then on top of that he didn't already consider making his game patreon friendly? I mean the guy is/was making enough cash on patreon to put resources into making the patreon friendly release while (maybe) having the game mod friendly for his supporters who wanted it as it was. I don't like seeing devs go under, but its seriously very difficult to feel sorry for the ones that are right now when it was known for months what would happen.

No one consider 2 girls as incest but simple lesbian play. It's totally vanilla. Real porn can have young looking actresses as they are always over 18 due to be real. I think that lolis might be the scariest thing for such a site. No one deals with underage porn or even accusation.

He knows that already.

News: Patreon asked DS to remove BB from Patreon. He can't modify it. BB is more or less dead from what it seems. It might be full switch into Glamour in a days
