If you want to use patreon as a future dev theres a few tips that Ive noticed. First keep your page pretty clean. You can show models of characters, list a few fetishes, and give brief description of your game. Make sure every character shown does not make you second guess if she/he is over 18. Use discord. I don't know why some don't, but discord is your friend if you don't want to use a site like this to give supporters/potential supporters a more detailed depiction of your game. Hell you can even use it as a reward. So say 5 dollars gets you an invite and 10 plus gives you mod rights etc etc. It works. So if you do plan on having a character like say Max (BB) you can show your supporters on discord through NSFW instead of worrying about posting it on patreon. Use polls but more so as suggestions rather than a complete takeover of a game. So for instance DC (summertime saga) uses polls to let players choose on what he will work on next. Each poll has an update with a character or system implementation that he can add to the game. That way people get to see what they want and DC can keep the game how he envisioned it to be without adding things he doesn't want or has no idea how to do (Like say some kind of fetish). This is also an area where you can reward supporters and give higher tier subscribers a reason for their pledge. So say a dollar is one vote and 5 is 2 etc etc. My last bit of advice is to make the game modd friendly especially if you want to use taboo content. Incest is the easiest, but other things might take a lot more work.
