The Link below is to a petition to @patreon and @jackconte to change the guidelines to state that Fictional and Fantasy creations are unaffected by the new guidelines put in place by Patreon, if we do not fight for this then we will lose our freedom as creators and our freedom of choice as Adults and supporters for the content outlined in the new guidelines.

So please lend your support and sign the petition, also plase share this with whoever you can, we must not stand for censorship of things that made Patreon for the Creators and not for the Investors.

Thank you

Sorry, but the new guidelines aren't taking away a person's creative freedoms. A Person can still create whatever they like, they just may not be able to use that web-service to generate income from those creations.

That being said; signed. (using a different alias)

Patreon started blocking games that have the content without advertising it? That's bizarre.

I completely understood telling creators not to advertise that they have said content, but blocking the ones that have it and don't say they do is weird.

On the other hand, there is a huge market for any smart entrepreneur out there to create a website like patreon that caters to amateur porn and games like this. I'm sure loads of couples in the world would participate if they could have a patreon-like website to get paid monthly for making videos. Would easily become one of the richest people in the adult industry.

There are bigger problems in this world.
And so what ? It's not because there's bigger problems that this one don't count.
Women are raped ? Well, there's bigger problems.
We are destroying the world ? Well, there's bigger problems.
Children are forced into labor ? Well, there's bigger problems.
People are starving ? Well, there's bigger problems.
People are killed ? Well, there's bigger problems.

Stay in your chair watching the world burn if you want, for me it's not that there's bigger problems, it's that there's no problems which are too small. So, if I can do something to help solving the problem, I'll do it, that's all.

Signed it.... Off course..

But... Time for a new platform.
Already so many games that are being ruined(For the moment) because of this crap.
Luckily for the Ren'py, RPG, Unity games Modding is a "easy" option so we Modders at this site can always reverse the shit that Patreon made the Creators do....As long as the Creators don't take the changes to far.

But there is 1 thing i don't understand...
All those big Devs (Mr Dots, Lewdlab, DS, DC, and i can go on for a while), if they just make there own website then that the creative problem would go away...And you can link payments through that as well.. (Just look at Vortex Cannon).
Or even better...... Help each other to make 1 new platform where you can do all the shit you want.
People will accept if you stop creating content for a couple months if you do that..

But there will be some Devs who are going to be put off-line and will give up... And that is going to be such a waste.
I am going to assume that when i come back from work next month that there are going to be a lot of Abandoned Games Topics here....

Signed of course, but it won't change a thing. The four areas they banned had to be banned even if they wouldn't want that.

bestiality, incest, sexual depiction of minors, and suggestive sexual violence

Those are the four areas they banned, and that is because they are banned by law on the whole planet. There isn't much they can do about it. It's banned in reality as in fiction (in fiction not everything / everywhere "yet"), since they're an american company they have to abide by american law and there those four categories are banned as fiction too.

So I for myself knew that this day would come...

Waste of time. They are not going to start breaking the law because you've signed a petition.
They're doing it because they don't want to get in trouble.

I'm not an expert, but this is not as easy as you may think. Hosting a site full of illegal content alone is a difficult task. But who's going to process your payments and move the money? "Hey, Paypal, we have this site that spills bestiality and pedo content, you wouldn't mind working with us, would you?"

You're wrong.
Sexual depiction of minors is not yet banned/illegal all around the world. For this one, I don't really know if it's a shame or a good thing.
Bestiality is the second most banned/illegal area. Still there's many countries where it's not illegal and some where it's even legal. There's even one crazy case, Spain, where it's illegal to produce and sell bestiality content, but legal to own it.
Incest is legal in around half the world, as long as it's between consenting adult and they don't marry each other.
And finally, suggestive sexual violence is the less banned/illegal of this four areas.
The only area banned on Patreon and illegal all around the world, is the one you don't talked about, none consensual sex. And yet it must be weighted since there's countries where Law imply, when not explicitly state, that sex between spouses is always consensual.

All this said, this is a (really quick) summary of the Law regarding human relations. There's many countries where it's illegal do to this or that, but legal to depict it and/or create art related to it.

I'm not an expert, but this is not as easy as you may think. Hosting a site full of illegal content alone is a difficult task.
So, it's a good thing that it's not illegal content and that Patreon isn't hosting a single thing since they already asked to remove all banned content from the Patreon page.

@anne O'nymous , Patreon is an US based company, they cannot care less if raping your wife is allowed in Pakistan.

I'm saying hosting alone is a difficult thing, let alone circling money around it.

If you create a petition and want to be taken seriously, you should make sure your language is correct.

The law has nothing to do with their decision. They (or their partners or investors) just do not want to be associated with content that might give them bad press.

I disagree. If that was the case they would've limited themselves with just demanding that this type of content remains hidden.
I'm not saying the police knocked on their door with a warrant to remove some content. But having a thriving community of people who enjoy sex with minors on your site is hardly a safe thing for you.

It's not illegal for banks to take fees on transaction related to an illegal subject, as long as they don't have prior knowledge about the illegality of the said transaction ; legally speaking, they are abused by their customers, that's all. It's also not illegal if both side of the transaction don't break the Law they depend on, even if in the main country of the bank it's an illegal thing.
The exact same apply for Patreon. They are just an intermediary. The service they sell is a linking between a creator and his patrons, nothing more. Legally speaking, what the creator do, as well as what the patrons do with the creations, fall far away of Patreon concern area. Like the banks, legally speaking they aren't involved in the, possible, illegality of transaction, as long as their Terms of Service specify that both creators and patrons must follow the law of their own country.

@anne O'nymous , I'm not saying it's illegal for a payment service to work with such a site, I'm saying no payment service will agree to work with it.
About Patreon not being responsible if a guy is selling child pornography on their site, I can't see how this can be a real thing. Besides, torrent trackers also claim they're just an intermediary (and that's just free p2p sharing) and yet they are being hit hard every now and then.
