can you add more languages mod such as chinese? many chinese friends want to play this game
The dev almost never visits here any more, so we can't say yes or no to that. :)

I think the game is English only. Maybe localizations will happen after it's done, maybe not. Some people might be doing translations on their own , but I don't know of any.

You probably won't have any luck there. Hardly any developer here creates his work in different languages. And the fan patches are usually german, english, french, sometimes russian. I haven't come across any other languages here yet. Apart from the games that are in the hentai area, there is often something Far Eastern in there.

Without english skills at least you probably won't have much fun playing the games here

That may be true. But they are primarily fanmade. They are also all languages that are related to each other to a certain extent. We also have many people in Europe and the entire English-speaking world who speak these languages. Things are looking rather bad for the Far East, for example Chinese, Japanese, Thai, etc.

I am not disputing that in any way. I would just point out that a large part of these translators translate using automatic translators. Therefore, it is not a problem at least for Japan. It could already be a problem for China, and it will be an even bigger problem for North Korea.

This would have to be done by a fan of PQ who can read and write both Chinese and English.

Also, there is tool such as Translator++ to help you with the task.

Generally, that wouldn't be a problem. Basically, we have a relatively large community with many people who also actively create fan translation patches for many games. There are definitely everal threats here. But you won't have much luck with these languages, which are still quite exotic in Europe today, for now. We still have too little immigration from the Far East, so there aren't many people here who really speak and write these languages. Vice versa the same. Because of this there aren't many who even ask about patches like this. I can imagine that such translations are a ton of work. And I'm afraid that hardly anyone does it when there are only a handful of people who want it.

One solution could be for the European and Far Eastern communities to simply establish more contact with each other and exchange products. This could also be good for the quality of the hentai games, which almost all look pretty much the same.
And who knows, maybe you will find more enthusiasm for the western games. And the middle class might be quite happy with that.

This connection could change the situation in just a few years

So now I completely disagree with you.
First, there are tons of Japanese games with English fan translations. Someone had to do that too, it could probably be done in retrospect.
There is no need for direct communication between the two parties for translation, especially at a time when automatic translators reach a relatively high level. True, they have their faults, but everyone will understand that in the final, of course there are exceptions here too.
In addition, I think that even the translation is not absolutely necessary, thanks to adult games, I have expanded my vocabulary quite a bit. And I know a lot of people who learned decent English years ago thanks to computer games.
And it's not even about the number of immigrants from the East, these communities are quite closed in themselves, how many Chinese or Japanese, etc. forums are you active on? Or do you know someone who is active on them? They just don't have to mess with us and live for themselves.

But I've been a very bad prophet for most of my life, so maybe I'm wrong again. ;)

That may be in your forum. but let's turn the tables: how many people do you think in this forum, where we are now writing to each other, can write and speak Japanese or Chinese? I assure you, it is a tiny minority.

I am german for myself. I am not a native English speaker. I can speak English fairly well. And when my ability is not good enough, I use an online tool. And I always find that there are a lot of mistakes. This has improved considerably in recent years, but still translating from german into english via tool has its pitfalls. I know games that have only been translated using a tool. And the gibberish I've read there... English into russian, on the other hand, works wonderfully. Does it work between englisch and japanese? I don't know.

If the translation has to be really first-class, a translator still has its limits. You need people for that.

I'm just east of you ;)

I agree with practically everything here. But I never play a game in Russian in my life.

I know that some Japanese and Chinese people blink here, but only if they send something here in their own alphabet. But I certainly didn't research how many there are. There was also one Chinese Dev, but he is radio silence for few years.

I don't dare to say where the majority of users are from, but the majority will probably be from Europe and America.

The main problem with a first-class translation is that a lot of games here have a shitty story written in some minority language. For example, in Lithuanian, it is translated into English using Google translator, and then it doesn't really make sense. As a result, every other translate loses a lot, and the translator has to do a lot of work with correction.

Of course, there are also games with a great story and great English.

I just think that translation is possible and it wouldn't be complicated. It would probably be enough to ask in the request thread and someone would be willing to do it.

IMO the stumbling block is that good translation requires not just grammatical correctness but also idiomatic fluency. Knowing comparable slang and metaphors, and also cultural context. The best media, not only games, relies on idiomatic fluency, and translations which don't have it frequently come across as clunky or weird. It's a different type of translation from business/legal documents.

In English 'kidding' means 'making a joke,' but the phrase "Are you kidding me?" can be used as a sarcastic way to express disbelief or annoyance, which a lot of foreign speakers probably won't pick up on in written format. That includes subtitles...

If someone asks you why you're doing something that affects others and you answer "I'm doing it for myself," most Westerners won't think too much about it (unless it's something anti-social). But Japan has a more collectivist society, and a Japanese person might think "I'm doing it for myself" is being selfish...that you're putting your own feelings or even welfare ahead of others' even if that's not what you meant.

Japanese has a leg up on this level of translation because they've been much more connected to the West than other Asian societies for decades. Korean isn't too far behind. But Chinese, Vietnamese, even Thai are well behind them. India's population is huge and I can count on one hand the number of Hindi translations I've seen that didn't make my brain hurt. Tamil is the second largest language in India and I don't think I've ever seen a single Tamil translation.

There's a VAST market for various localizations, and just not enough people to serve them all, let alone those who would do it for free in their own time. :)

The biggest problem with translating RPGM games that you need to also translate the UI, items and scripts. It's one of the reasons why most RPGM games are translated when finshed and they often have pieeces untranslated

A good translation is as difficult and require just as much creativity as the original work, especially when the language belong to different culture.

This is a good example. This phrase can change meaning or expression depending on how it is spoken, the facial expression, and body language. To get it in writting, one must take in to account the whole setting/situation.

Also, there many cases that there is no direct translation from English to other languages.
