"Tinkerers Update News"

View attachment 4983998
Hi again!

I still have a few more days of my vacation to serve, but I figured you'd still appreciate a sneak peek. Although the time I have had to spend on the game this week has been a bit limited, I've still gotten a fair bit of scripting done. The main map and two new floor plans are "up and running", and much of the reproductive and miscellaneous mechanics for the new characters is done. I've also gotten quite a ways on the first quest.

I hope to get something out by the end of July, the issue is to find a descent cut off point for the update. There is a lot of groundwork to lay down this update and somehow I also need to add a fair bit of story.

I suppose that's about all I have to report at the moment. I'll be heading home again early next week, I should be able to pick up the pace again then.

Have a great weekend everyone!

Hi guys,
did I miss something? where did the baron's daughter appear for the first time? And who is the baron? Is it the city chief/ magistrate whom gave MC the quest with the vampire lady? I'm on version 75. I'm curious
Cheers

Ok so at the Lodge the cooking pot only gets you make steaks which is really frustrating when you forget/don't realise you are lacking 2 Meals or 1 Mead (the candles is a different problem). Can we PLEASE get that cooking pot updated as a proper cooking station. It's so frustrating when I'm about to do Birgitte's date & I'm just lacking one of those.
Similarly, Mia's cooking station still uses the old method rather than the cookbook. Maybe because the MC can make a meal for her as a gift. But making Special Pastries uses the old method as before until after you use one on Rosy and then they are in the cookbook. Seems to me Mia's station could be done the same way. And torches are still made the old way at all stations.

I'd prefer having all the stations work the same way, and include torch-making in the book even though it's not "cooking," for consistentcy. :)

Got to the point of the Transformation Quest where my next step was to get her an outfit. Since I fucking hate her, (the constantly leaving and coming back annoys the heck out of me) I dumped her in my room at the tower.

Went to Edgar's to buy the outfit, she teleported to Edgar's shop. Got the outfit, and went back to the tower, once I walked in the room, she transformed. Original familiar was still in the corner. Can only dump one, can only pick up one. Probably going to lose an hour of gameplay to go pack to the last save I have before getting the outfit, just so I don't have to have her in the party all the time. Her name isn't an oral sex joke, it's cause I really do hate her.

Seems to me that I stumbled upon a repeatable glitch to always have two familiars, if that is your cup of tea. Though one of them wouldn't evolve.

Edit: Realized my autosave was just before I bought the outfit, I had the medallion but hadn't given it to Edgar, only lost about 5 minutes. Kept the save though.

Second Edit: Dawned on me to look at what would happen when I went to spend time with an LI, would both leave then come back? Only the evolved leaves, original one stays in the party. I can only dump / pick up the original one at the tower.

Is the "NOTHING in this game (except for the day/night cycle) is time-sensitive." sentence in the walkthrough still relevant?

If u don't complete Alice's wedding arc before a certain point (I believe you need the Family Farm & Evolved Cocoon at Tower, doiluble check the WK) before the quest Alice In Wonderland triggers then you'll skip/fail that questline. And if you don't give Zsofia the Red Dress before they move in the Castle I think that fails too.

There are also some events that are unique. If you have won back Victoria then u can unlock a 3some with her & ED during Waystones Part-2 that can be missed. Or the fact that if u complete Beth's questline before completing Gwynneth's then you get the Thug Big Boss, instead of Eckhardt.

Yes, as in "Would I fail any quests if I go around grinding levels/gold?"

I see. So, there are only points of no return when it comes to quests but no actual time (day) limit on quests aside from the 7 day limit in the Delivery Boy quest?

Correct.

After certain points in the game for most LIs, if you haven't been paying enough attention and/or been a dick to them their Affection for the MC goes down. You can rebuild it through various methods but if it's too low you might not be able to start/complete a quest while it's too low. Dunno how many times someone complained they couldn't start/complete a quest and it turned out a LI's Affection was too low... That's not a timer per se, but it is a gate and can definitely slow the game down or even block progression including with the Main line. (There is a built-in cheat that disables Affection loss from inattention, but you still have to build it up to certain thresholds for some quests.)

Play game up to where the Transformation quest says "See if Edgar has an outfit available".

Then drop off the familiar in the MC's room in the tower.

Go ask Edgar about the outfit. Since Edgar needs to see the familiar for measurements, the familiar pulls herself out of the ether and shows herself to Edgar. She now exists in the MC's room and with the MC at Edgar's. Walking into the MC's room transforms the one with the MC before the MC can reach the only already in the room.

I didn't ask for the bug to be fixed, I just pointed it out to the forum to show that it is funny.

You don't ask for my save, just told me I had to give it to you. That kind of inclines me not to give it to you, especially since I detailed how it can be duplicated in my first post, reiterated again here for clarity. If you can't duplicate it, then it really isn't much to be concerned about. But I believe it can duplicated each and every time you follow the above steps. Kind of annoyed that you called that "impossible to see/re-made" without even thinking about what I said.

Ask yourself, what is Edgar's response to the MC asking for the familiar's outfit. Find yourself the answer and you will see how that duplicates the familiar if she is not with the MC.
