Sometimes saves from older versions won't work once the game is updated. This is unavoidable if you've saved on a scene I later need to change (particularly the apartment, which sometimes needs work). Saving in scenes with a separate loading screen, like the flashbacks and sex scenes, will likely be a little more reliable. The game is non-linear and designed for multiple runs through anyway, so I've designed two features in to ease the process, particularly during this early access phase:I keep getting this error when I load my save and the game just freezes after clicking OK. I tried loading a very early save one where you speak with the doctor and it loaded fine so it seems only saves further into the game around day 10 or so.
Any chance there is a fix for this? looked through other people's errors and it seems generally there isn't one. Shame I was really enjoying the game up until this point
1) When you start a new game you can skip the intro (taking you straight to the apartment on day 1) or you can get an accelerated start (taking you to day 7, just before Emi, Nobuko and Shizu's sex scenes).
2) The game saves persistent memory about what you've seen in the game and if you turn on the "scene skip" funtion in the stats menu you will speed through stuff you've already seen. For sex scenes you're usually given a prompt of whether you'd like to skip it or not, though, just in case.
Is the problem that you're not able to go to the subway? There was an old bug related to that but I tracked it down and that should be fixed. If you can go down to the subway (from the entrance room) you can just click on the subway map there and select the flashback option.I give up, i got a message telling me to investigate something about a casino flashback in the subway, there's absolutely nothing there
Occasionally, when a new scene is loading, the loading may break and seem to simply be taking forever on a black screen, generally when trying to load the apartment. I know it's frustrating - it is for me too. Unfortunately this is because of a memory leak issue in the audio code used by the engine, not an issue in my own code, therefore there is no simple fix I can make for it. It doesn't happen on most systems, only a minority, and it doesn't have anything to do with how powerful the computer is - I just can't predict whether you'll get the problem or not. I have been working to try and find workarounds for the issue, but in the meantime my best advice is to download the alternative "no music" version, which is designed to reduce the effect, although it may not eliminate it entirely.Looks like the game is incredibly buggy right now. I'm constantly getting "Now Loading" black screens and it just wont advance. I'd recommend going back and fixing these issues
That menu screen issue actually doesn't sound like behaviour I've heard reported before. I do know that Mac's most recent update screwed with the game a bit, though, so maybe that's the problem? I don't actually have a Mac, so I can't test it myself.I'm having the same issue reported above. I attempt to load in a saved game and get a black screen. I'm also starting to see just loading the game will result in a black screen (relaunched the game, got to the main menu, before I could click on anything it went black). Even starting a new game will result in a crash within a few seconds.
I'm on a Mac. With Apple's latest MacOS update (Big Sur) I usually spend some time in the Terminal to get these games to work. Most of the time it takes a game two launches before it works. That is not the case for this release. I will say that I've had no issues with previous releases of this particular game. Anyway, just wanted to toss out my experience to the growing chorus.
On the difficulty loading saves, though, the issue is probably just that it's a broken save from a scene that's since been updated and hence the old save now can't be loaded, as mentioned above.
Oh, you're still getting that problem? Damn, I thought that was fixed. It's a rather rare bug (another problem with the engine) that I thought the engine developers had actually solved. I had a talk to someone from the company about it, in fact. It happens when you load into a scene with a choice coming up; there aren't that many scenes that trigger it in the game, but there are a couple. In which scene did this happen for you, exactly?Game appears to be frozen when I load up a save on a decision screen. I can click one of the choices and it doesn't do anything after. Freshly installed, no old saves used.
