Well I messed around with Twine for a bit and got pretty much everything PE had with exception to the wardrobe system. Setting Daring variable and Money was pretty easy. I had outfits tracking similar to Cursed because I think part of the issue with PE is the sheer amount of customization bogs it down and lets be honest its un-necessary anyway as it comprises of entirely stolen content.Still, I'd like to see your effort at giving it a go. I won't berate you for it. I'm interested to see if it's an easy job as you think, or if there's quite a bit more effort involved than initially thought. My money's on the latter.
I'm not implying that you just take the AI outputs and dump it in a game, I'm saying you can have the AI carry a lot of the weight. I've done enough research with it, most of what you're saying is down to prompting issues. If you give the AI shit prompts you get shit output. If you go in and manually tweak the outputs so that its 50/50 Human and AI then the context will build on that which is way way more impressive, the results are really good but you can go a step further and manually refine them further as well to the point where you can't tell it was generated by AI.
As for paperdolls, there's no need to use control nets when you can just use In-painting. I use the Krita SDXL plugin and I've made a consistent paper doll no problem, the only issue I had was making it so the transition from Male to Female didn't look like crap, SD still struggles with that unfortunately, it doesn't do Androgynous characters too well, but adding clothes to a naked paper doll was pretty easy and worked great. The trick was masking.
