gave it a quick spin will try to organize thoughts and sugestions below

combats more likely to get the player an early game over in its current state. it took a bit of trial and error but i was able to figure out the hurtbox of the players attack... its really short could lead to some cruelty later.

speaking of player attacks the lack of an air attack makes flying foes like the bee a slog esp with the short range your better off just running away.

doubble jumps on a hair trigger, not nessasarly bad but i found long presses of the space bar makes it activate early and eat most of its hight, btw what was up with that one sign with the poetry or i think thats what it was.

some weirdness where the player would sometimes be facing the wrong way seemingly randomly.

bellow is just sugestions feel free to ignore them

shame the cursed states are not playable in some fashion even if its just an excape the room to get uncursed scenerio... could be a good way to gate player upgrades like get turned into a rabbit unlock doubble jump in that state escape and get uncursed and you keep it. bounus if later foes use those unlockable abilites on the player.

a simple three hit combo attack would be nice given the short attack range makes misses very bad news.

it is a nice platformer and a good start too.

have you tried using different weapons? they have different hitboxes depending on the weapon equip and different attack speeds. that being said there is still a lot of room for improvement, and i agree flying enemy's like the bees are actually really hard to beat. likely i will improve combat sometime in the future. 3 combo attacks are totally on the table with the current set up. as for the signs, who knows? its a mystery >:3 lastly the upgrades are going to be tied with beating specific sentient cursed npcs that will reward the player with there abilities. as for playing in a cursed state, well no I'm not going to have the player be able to get cursed and continue which is a shame. i wish i could, but the sprite required would likely be too taxing to make as it would exponentially add the sprites i would need to make for every interaction. but don't be too disappointed. something i was mulling over was allowing the player to briefly play as some cursed npcs which could have unique scenes.

Hi, what game engine are you running?
Trying on Joiplay and it works.
Issues:
- Game hangs when pressing Atk
- Not sure if PC has same issue or not but screen size is small so the button keys hovers over text box when text box appears
- At some point into the game the game hangs when pressing jump button (it's random, sometimes early sometimes quite far)

fascinating that your playing on mobile.. um you might want to disable the control scheme of that app? I'm unfamiliar with it. my game is playable through touch only. while in game click on the inventory button, then go to the setting option at the bottom and turn on the mobile controls build into the game. that way the mobile controls don't cover the dialogue.

XD oh my god. dam i really wish itch.io didn't skew my account over on there. I would just tell you to play it on there where i have mobile controls set up better and game window wouldn't be so small.

the only reason you should go out of your way to get near enemies in this game is to get the scenes, the combat is awful and is always in the enemy's favor.

I'm confused as to what you mean. in the settings for the game which can be accessed through the inventory (its the wrench button) you can change the player sex and the enemy's sex. if you like boy on boy, or being a female protagonist with the monsters being male that very much a thing you can do.

its just a rapier that does piercing damage. it could be useful due to help defeat a mimic if your come across one due to its range.
