By all accounts, this will just be a soft reboot of PE1, with the endings of the first game being irrelevant since all of it will happen again in PE2.

Did you play any other of Sad Peppers games? He doesn't do the harem routes for either the leading guys or gals. Julia was seduced by Cornell and at the end of the game, she had a threesome while Peter watched. All of his games follow a similar trajectory. I'm thinking that Julia will hook up with Simon and maybe again with Cornell eventually, kind of a make-up for lost time and forgiveness of their hurt feelings. IDK about Peter, will Simon's mom make a move on him, or will Jasmin come to distract him. Or Mrs. Johnson's assistant assume the role of the foil?

Chekov's gun is a principle of consistent and logical storytelling - not a rule all writers abide by. And if SadPepper was planning on adhering to said principle, he would've already added some unique interaction between Cornell and Julia on the path where Penelope is his daughter.
It's safe to say that Julia and MC being parents is not going to affect or influence the story of PE2 in any significant way.
I wonder when the new version will come out. It's taking too long. I don't like waiting for this.

I agree with that assessment, because in the past, Sad Pepper's games usually spanned only a few days or a couple of weeks. Penelope was left in Peter's parents' care for the duration, thus far, so I think she will not be featured at all, aside from a few mentions.
