Very good, I love it.You were correct that I was using the default environment lights. Seemed a simple solution but as proven here, not a good one.
I haven't bought ElianeCK yet because I want to at least try to figure out the concepts before I buy a tool that does it for me. That's a big part of why I am doing this. Having fun figuring it all out.
Here's a pic I rendered using pointlights. I would appreciate your critique.

Do you turn off "Headlamp mode" Camera?
I can see some noise in darker spots like her neck, you can fix it on PS with a simple "Reduce noise" tool.
You are right to want to learn all about these tools because even though ElianeCK is quick and easy, it often causes more problems than solutions. Lights are unquestionably the most important object in a rendering because light up the emotions of creation and there's no better way to show emotions than creating your own lights.
Just like you I'm still learning about it and I think is important to share knowledge and experiences with others.
