Something I've wondered how come you're the one that gets kicked out? Like the step-mom was cheating with you. You haven't techincally done anything wrong, it's the step-mom who should get punished.

Granted, I know it's for story purposes in this case, and it works well thanks to pretty fun writing.

But like in general, why not punish the cheater instead of the "other" guy?
