seems with every update theirs more and more glitches and bugs in the game will personally be holding off playing it anymore till the full game has been fixed entirely as its always a headache to deal with as is to say the least

good lord. this somehow manages to be both a bad pokemon game and a bad porn game.

you'd think it'd be very difficult to make a truly bad pokemon game, given how simplistic the franchise is, but H Version wants to make it "hard." and by "hard," i mean the kind of unfair hard that casuals associate with Souls games.

the first battle is a perfect example of this: your starter pokemon can't out-damage your opponent's in the very first fight of the game because theirs has access to a priority move that always goes first. so, you're forced to either use healing items in battle (booooo, fight fair) or spam Double Team, which makes it less likely your foe lands a hit until you're confident that you can take out the opponent's 'mon without getting pressure washed to death.

note that, if you've never played competitive pokemon before, most events and services specifically disallow the use of Double Team because it makes for extremely boring matches and turns the game into a luckfest. if a game is actively encouraging me to cheese in order to survive, that is not "hard". that is unfair.

speaking of unfair, the starter pokemon is absolutely ridiculous once it's fully evolved. it has decent speed and great offensive stats; amazing defensive typing, weak to only ground and fire attacks; it has an incredibly powerful ability that buffs it whenever it KOs a 'mon; and its signature move gives a free defensive boost whenever it hits. if Nintendo released this thing, it'd be running all over the competitive circuit with very little in its way except a very fast Earthquake 'mon. i can't tell what the devs are going for when they hand me a 'mon this busted and then have a leveling curve that's as out of wack as theirs is.

now, i did bring up competitive play earlier. the reason for that is because H Version is absolutely inspired by it. at the very end of the first route, you fight a trainer with 5 'mons -- unheard of for this early in the game -- and they lead on a Spikes/Swords Dance/Baton Pass Skarmory. that Skarmory will lay Spikes to damage all of your pokemon as they enter the battlefield, spam Swords Dance to buff its attack stat into the ceiling, and pass that bonus on to another pokemon, who will proceed to sweep your team of Oddishes and Pinecos.

on top of that, you have no supereffective moves at that point in the game to deal with Skarmory's tankiness, so if you didn't grind your team to the level cap, you're just stuck until you do. in what universe do you expect the people who play your game to jerk off to want to grind that hard just to progress? this isn't even a gym battle or other boss fight, it's just some random kid on a bridge. what were they thinking?? just do away with the level cap, scale trainer levels to the player's party average, and steal the trainer AI rework from Complete FireRed Upgrade. it's that simple.

speaking of jerking off, hoo boy, is H Version stingy with it. the game is 95% a poorly executed romhack and 5% porn. plus, the porn that's there is just... okay. it's not animated, it's loosey-goosey with anatomy, and it's short. it's amateur hour. you shouldn't expect anything more, especially after your hoe rival OwOs in conversation.

it's disappointing, low expectations aside, because pokemon and hentai is a match made in heaven. the games themselves center around a theme of growing alongside a team of companions and learning more about their abilities and powers as they grow more affectionate towards you. imagine that but with a team that's also your harem.

to the devs -- come on, man. i don't want to watch half-assed VN cutscenes of my 'mons looking sad about things, i want to walk with them. feed them poffins off of my chest. play pokemon-amie but in a BDSM way. so many free ideas; none of them utilized.

i ultimately gave up on H Version after encountering an extremely annoying (but not technically gamebreaking) bug that screws up overworld ground textures after entering a building or a battle, which made it very difficult to progress without relaunching the game after every encounter. i probably would have given up on it soon enough even if the game wasn't kinda buggy.

anywho, if you want to manhandle your ham candle to this, all of the scenes are in the Pictures folder of the main game directory. if you want a genuinely challenging romhack with some love and care put into it, go play Unbound or Blaze Black/Volt White. don't play this.

Pokèmon Hentai Version is an undoubtedly unique experience, an erotic game about pocket monsters with a playful, hardcore purpose behind it as well.
On the gameplay side, nothing to report, it is the classic rpg experience with turn-based combat of mainline pokèmon games: the introduction of new unique creatures (the waifu-mon, but also other original creatures in the hands of some enemies) with unique signature moves is definitely appreciable, especially since they are strong, but not "broken." The real flaw on this side is the scaling (I would say obscene) of the trainers: these are very numerous, right from the first path, and equipped with fully evolved monsters. It is understandable that the motive behind this choice is to increase the difficulty of the experience, to make it suitable for more veteran players, but the feeling conveyed is that of an artificial difficulty that forces farming from the start to make your life easier (the Audino trainers found in some towns to allow you to level quickly soon become useless, especially at more advanced levels, while the pokèmon in the tall grass are often too weak to gather much exp). I mean, the last kid on route 1 has a fucking Hariyama, just for fun. The artificial intelligence behind the trainers is not too complex, but it is still appreciable, with strategies especially relevant behind the gym leaders, while in the double battles the pokèmon pairs are designed to cover each other, making them even more complex. To close this section, we can say that the gameplay component is difficult, although sometimes for the wrong reasons (perhaps the beginning could be more gradual and accompanied in its scale of difficulty), but you get used quickly, developing strategies and team formations (to this end, you will often reload the game to experience different solutions) and above all never stopping thinking.
The next point is obviously the erotic component: this is divided into two "strands", namely the furry with waifumon and classic vanilla with female gym leaders and with Asha, our rival and companion of adventure. An unexpected element that I really appreciated are the stories and mini quests behind the waifumons, all different in personality and even with a reason for their strange evolution. The scenes are all hand drawn in a few CGs not animated, nothing special but still cute.
The story, finally, is interesting, with an evil team well thought and a plot that well justifies both the greater difficulty of the region, and the erotic experiences you'll live.
In conclusion, Pokèmon H Version is an ambitious project, which wants to combine the hardcore mods with the erotic mods of Pokèmon, with a result of alternate quality, but certainly appreciable.
Edit: I nearly forgot to add the real mystery of this game, that is: why the hell the first encounterable legendary is Volcanion? Dear developer, do you really hate us so much to give us this horror?

Best pokemon mod game I have played. Brutally hard, the game was clearly made by someone who loves the series and the competitive scene, but Sintax isn't so stuck up he gives no resources for more casual players. Relationships are nice, with well written characters (Ashe is sweet enough to give you cavities, I swear), this could well be leading into a game that plays on par with the best pokemon mod games out there.

pretty solid in terms of pokemon lewd games

its doesnt feel very grindy especially considering the speed up option and the leveling trainers in each town. dont listen to the people saying the game is too hard. the starter is beyond broken. like better than most legendaries broken.

you can get its final evo pretty early giving it access to the ability beast boost. draining kiss for recovery, calm mind and grande jete to boost stats and dazzling gleam for big damage and to sweep all of the double battles (dgleam hits both opposing pokemon). you can also get the item leftovers in ur starter house on the desk

the part where this game loses the most points is the lewd content. its just incredibly mid. the scenes are boring and vanilla af. if you want a solid pokemon game with some lewd content slapped in then play. if u want something to get yourself off then skip this

As a Pokemon fan game it does everything I personally look for. Higher difficulty, creative fakemons, interesting story. Only thing so far is that for the amount of gameplay there is the hentai is fairly spread out. As it is in active development that will likely change. Not sure how to feel about the darker themes of violence etc. It does fit the story well, but I was expecting a more tongue in cheek light-hearted porn game.

Feels like it is the same with every pokemon fan game. High difficulty with people circle jerking each other about how great they are compared to the real pokemon games made for little babies. They are not little babies!! They are winning hard gaim!! How can 1 dev make it better than Game Freak's 3 gorillion developers?????
As someone that has played countless hacks and fangames, this game is a really normal, middle of the road fangame. I seen it done before in 2012 on some shitty forum that no longer exist, including how the dev acts. "If you like pokemon try it" is such a terrible say. Everyone likes pokemon, it is the highest grossing franchise in the world. People like it for different reasons.
Play this game if you are a coomer that has played pokemon fangames before. Otherwise, you will probably hate it. I like it enough.

The idea behind the game is neat and the original pixel arts are great.
But sandy it's not animated and scenes are very short at the same time.
Another point of criticism is the difficulty/grind factor.
The game's map is pretty small and there are basically "gate keeper" trainer in place that are very hard to defeat.
The original Pokemon games have their "casual" flow that allows you to level up your main Pokemon and spend little time on leveling few side Pokemon for elements variety, without forcing you to grind XP in one place.
Here you have to grind a lot to progress. Even the dew NPC that helps you with that are not enough, it still takes a lot of time to get your team to a point where you can face the "gate keeper" or the gym leader.

Aside from pacing, a little jank, some unclear stuff, there being a quest log but not really used at all, the ero part being very ok art wise but pretty solid writing wise....

This game is fundamentally what pokemon is supposed to be and should be without exception... if it wasn't stupid designed for disgusting cancerous little shits called children. Just even what could be called the worst writing, shits all over the offensively damn bland and godly awful crap official pokemon writing

    >_> but that ain't a high bar.... My favorite thing about this is like for example the ghost type being more like what their short little descriptions say which never ever ever will happen officially and fuck them for wasting it. Darkest pokemon gets is the flavour text and subtle underlying theme/vibe of hardcore massive industrial level of animal abuse. But that is quite unimportant as pokemon explicity demand hardcore suspension of disbelief. Blah statements and meme references aside, some toss away statements makes this significantly more grounded. For all I know mayhaps more then author ever intended. Really makes the setting great (or more like phenominal and godlike) when compared to the low bar otherwise.

Tho I cringe a bit at doing and saying... *dramatic sigh* so for some small and large things aside I all in all do totally recommend this as it is easily one or if not just straight up the best pokemon game ever made afaik

Man, why do people not like this more?

Asha is by far the best part of this game and is straight up the best rival I have experienced. Even comparing to some other quality hacks like insurgence.

The performance, like some other hacks is not great, I don't care tbh.

I would rather actual real pokemon than custom but eh I'm here for Asha.

(+ i think patron decides the pokemon so that's not a gripe with author)

Would like another love interest, would love more nuance then grind. Would love more cute gf stuff and sfw tease while more brutal stuff + no tease with the pokemon. I think a lack of distinction between those two areas hurts the impact of some of the character moments. To be very fair , the game does already have a distinction just like i described. But I think taking that to the extreme would work really well.

5 stars for the compact mapping and Asha. don't really care for the pokemon nsfw stuff aside from adding to the vibe.

    Difficulty is cool .

Im gonna be honest -_- i REALLY wanted to like this game. The story looks VERY interesting, the art for the custom-made characters and pokemon looks good, but the sheer amount of JANK i've witnessed while trying to play is just insane ._.
Idk wth the dev is tryna do here, but a parody game of an old-ass game such as pokemon should NOT run this badly or have this many errors popping up left and right x_x. Ffs, almost ALL flying, steel and fire type moves cause the game to crash when used, as well as some early normal type moves ._.
I havent been able to get past the first Asha companion mission because one of the maps CRASHES every time it tries to load.
The porn itself is MEH. it's not bad, but as far as ive seen it's only pictures and not much more to report.
The difficulty balance is also MEH. It's not really as difficult as the developer hyped it up to be, aside from some actually unfair moves that you can only counter by one-shotting/downing the enemy before they use it. Every other fight I was able to sweep and/or brute force my way past, despite the devs smug asseverations that it would'nt be possible. The game's not difficult, it simply just likes to annoyingly spike up the unfairness at times.

Overall: I like it, which is why it bothers me so much that i cant play it and enjoy it properly without it crashing on me every single damn time i load a specific area or fight certain pokemon, because the scripts for some of their moves are janked to all hell. -_-

Pretty good. love the unique monsters. hope to see more content. As a suggestion some multi stage waifumons would be cool, though I see the difficulty in it as it would amount to three whole new mons.

I just love the idea of adult pokemon based game. Although the start of the game is a bit of a slow start, once you get going you're going to find your team already level 40+ by the 3rd gym. Also a little spoiler, if you're going into a double battle. The odds of the enemy using Earthquake TM are extremely high.

    DvlsInThDtls

Game has difficulty spikes, but overall is not too challenging. I can't wait for more scenes, as they are definetly a cut above a lot of the crap on this site. Overall, its a very good game with good pictures.

    Basedestroyer

A pokemon game with challenging encounters that also has porn in it, so far there is not nearly enough of the latter content to warrant slogging through the former. The added pokemon waifus are a nice addition to expand the lineup of pokemon but that's all I can really say about the porn half of the game. Some constructive criticism would be to maybe tone down the challenge and grind to meet said challenge and focus on what people actually come here for: The Porn.

It's pretty clearly spelled out that this is a Pokémon challenge game, If you don't have the competitive knowledge you can grind easy and you get stupidly op mons so it really shouldn't be too hard at any skill level if you want to cheese it. Great to see a good pokemon fan game with good fakemons and well done art, Great work on this one, I hope you can finish the entire game.

My main qualm with the game is the loading times I experienced in Eclipse City. I could not play this on my laptop without experiencing 30 second loading times there and ended up switching over to a desktop. If you know the PC you want to play this on is absolute crap, just know you will become frustrated as you'll experience a freeze or black screen for up to half a minute every time you exit a building back into the city.

Onto the positives, I would say the game is enjoyable. The difficulty isn't tailored to kids like most pokemon games, it dips into darker mature themes even outside the XXX content, and it actually does make you play pokemon more strategically. It is not a brainless pud pulling game. On that same note, there isn't too much pud pulling content to be had either, but personally the amount of porn content something has never bothered me if the game itself is good.

The only complaint about the gameplay itself is the mining minigame. It gets boring very fast when you essentially must do a dozen of them back-to-back just so you don't have to trek back there. I wanted to tear my eyes out when I walked into my third cave with them.

ALSO HOLY SHIT TRIPLE TRIAD FROM FF8 LETS FUCKING GOOOOOOO. :PogChamp::PogChamp::PogChamp:

    Madnessandpie

While not the best H game, its a solid contender in terms of fan made Pokémon games. The art is always on style, and almost perfectly indistinguishable for cannon assets. The custom pokemon are interesting and its clear the authro is a comp player because there are actual stratigies involved in their playstyle rather then hit hard. This does create one of the games downsides though, the challange level is way higher then a normal pokemon game, and icnludes some rather annoying stuff that breaks the game flow. You actually have to plan around meta builds or they can sweep your entire team, the immortal shuckle was really bad. This wouldnt be too bad if the pokemon you are obviously supposed to play with can counter these, but they cant, so you have to find and train a wild one specifically for single battle, then box it.
Otherwise the writing isnt too bad, and the world is very nice. The H content is a bit lacking however, would be nice if there was more npc's having sex thrown around the world rather then it being utterly vanilla except for maybe 2 moments. Hell, it seems the player is the only one banging pokemon at all.

The first fight after asha was kinda annoying since I didn't wanna use any potions but I got through it I'm not too far into the game but I'm definitely enjoying it. I do like how hard it is so I actually have to think about what I'm using and buying.

Shockingly good game, never played pokemon much growing up as I never had anything other than a wii but the gameplay aspect is actually considered in this which only makes it better. Rare to see a balance and I love games that do have that element of good game/story to make you immersed so you can actually care about the sex scenes too.
