Poll, how do you usually name the protagonist?

All my characters are called Firstname: Malaficus Lastname: Shaikan.
I mean it is awesome name.

My guess is that that was the original idea behind nameable protagonists; to use your own name for immersion purposes. That way those girls aren't flirting with some rando. They're flirting with you! I can definitely see the appeal of that on paper, but I think I tried using my real name once or twice and got really weirded out by it. Started using a different name after that.

yeah, this completely. Since pretty much all decisions in these games are really far from what I'd do in a similar situation, it doesn't make sense to me to use my name. Feels weird to have my name be used in a game when I wouldn't opt for any of the choices presented usually. Using the default or a joke name is easier to get into the mindset of the lack of choices I would do don't matter because I'm in this other person and its what that other person would choose to do.

- setup my external monitor
- edit the game by myself for many thinks such as add music if not had one or add font,mod etc
- ofc put my real name and nick name that make the game more interesting for me
- for now iam looking or searching about how to use VR in VN games

Sometimes I name them after a fictional character I like if there's character customization or no visuals. Other times I just go with a name I like or use the default.

Almost never use my actual name.

I voted for "default name", but it depends.
If I've to come with a non-default name, I usually choose "Altero" or "Fritz" (as they sound cool and badass names) or whatever strikes my fantasy reading the game's description. I try to keep the name aligned with the setting for better immersion.

Off topic, as you asked for f95 games, but on Nutaku, where many games automatically use your handle as the character's name, it resulted in so many cringey moments.
"Oh, TheRogueTrader, please, hold me tight while we enjoy this beautiful moonlit night..." (and worse)

Depends on the game. If it's one I can relate to in real life I might use my real name. If it's nothing like my life I might use something from a tv show or a book like Harry Dresden or Chuck Finley, but I do usually change it from the default if that's an option. If that's not an option, that doesn't bother me.

I usually keep the default name, otherwise I have several stock names I am reusing, like Alex - I like the X and it could be used for both males and females. Some of my stock names are originally default names from games I liked.

I never use my real name because I never self-insert and any funny/nonsensical name would only break my immersion.

I really don't get worked up over the name of the character, over the years I have just settled on a 'default' name.
If it is a male protagonist I name them Fucklet.
If it is a female protagonist I name them Fucklet.
If the game is some kind of broken, subby, bitch toy (dude or chick), I name them fucklet.

If I am in 'a mood', they get bestowed gloious and 'life enriching' names like rapetoy, cumdump, cocksleeve, broodmare, or whatever else I can dream up at the moment. Doesn't matter what they identify as either, dudes, chicks, trans, traps, doms, subs, or attack helicopters, everyone gets a turn.

Jokes aside, I always name my protagonist Max when Guy, and Sam when girl. I have named myself max for so long that If someone IRL says Max I sometimes feel like they are calling me.
This naming convention goes beyond porn games. Also, im making a new game where the protagonist will be called Max and the player cant change it. Why ? cause fuck you

Proggy Protag and Dude Bro are my usuals. Male protags are always joke names because most of them are blank slates and a funny name can make dialogue into something special, like: "Nice day today isnt it, cumrunner?"

FP usually is Alex. DK why I chose Alex. Exotic protags get exotic names, especially elves.

In Ravager, I have used Draggo, Trogdor and Draiig. I tried naming Malice "Kanna" but she hated it.
