Did a quick test, seems it takes the most recently modified file regardless of location.
I believe that's part of the 'sync' feature. (- edit: or not,
turns out user was using the (unofficial) Gamecore version)
You mean you tried to copy+paste a .save file as text? It's a binary file (a .zip actually) and that can/will never work.
So,
not using the sync feature in this case. Where are you copying (or extracting) the saves to? Did you put the whole saves dir in a zip?
As
icesun said, they're in two locations: @
game\saves in the game directory itself ('local') and @
%APPDATA%\RenPy\Polyturnon-1615775772 (platform specific). Make sure to copy/extract to one or both of these locations, and first remove (or rename) existing folders if exists, to make sure you don't end up with mixed set of files or smthng. New saves will be created in both locations. (So note, that if not careful, you may end up with folders that have a different set of saves - so prolly good idea to pick one as your 'reference'.)
(I use the %APPDATA% one for that, and delete the local 'saves' folder when needed. I never use(d) RP's sync feature btw.) Be sure, btw, to transfer the
persistent file as well.
