If actual rival girls are added to your freelancer list, then that's because their contracts have expired and you're free to hire them yourself. This can't be turned off, but you can just ignore them for some time and they'll get signed by another company soon.

And I keep getting notifications that I need to improve my security. I have guards and they're assigned where they're supposed to be. I don't have a strip club or a studio. But I keep getting these alerts.

It's a bug in v0.84b, and it should be fixed in (coming soon) v0.9. You can just hire extra security and assign it to places you don't own, if you really want to get rid of the events.
