I have questions.

How do tags affect the values (income/popularity and such)? I'm not necessarily looking for exact formulas, just some general ideas.
For example, I know there are "popular demands", trending tags that change over time. Say, BBW.
If BBW is the hot shit, does that mean characters with no BBW tag, or those with the Petite tag receive a penalty? Or do they just not receive the benefit of being popular at the time? Also, what happens if there are multiple trending tags, are they simply added together?

Asking because I'm wondering if having more "generic" or "blank" characters (where no tag is possible, like with age, weight, or alt status) is better than having specialized ones in long term*. Because obviously if they're trending they will get more.

For example, I can slap a tattoo on every character, making them all Alt, which would be great if it is not penalized in case Alt tag is not the hot shit, but if it is penalized, then this idea could nosedive the numbers.

This is a great game. I'm wondering about endgame strategies. Websites are supposed to be the endgame money makers, but you need fans to get subscribers. Websites don't really get fans themselves, and to get fans either big money must be spent in marketing or videos are published for ad revenue. So my question is have I been gimping myself by publishing mainly to distributors? Another question I've got is a model can be contracted up to ten scenes a month, so if I make a personal website for her does it cap out at requiring ten scenes?
>So my question is have I been gimping myself by publishing mainly to distributors?
perhaps. there are PA policies that can get you fans by publishing on websites. also other means with investments, photostudio, sending your contracted models to conventions...
>Another question I've got is a model can be contracted up to ten scenes a month, so if I make a personal website for her does it cap out at requiring ten scenes?
there's no hard cap for websites. but at one point you just cant reach those goals, which serves as a soft cap.

Where I find v0.91b?

popular tags will add to the total bonus % when calculating the final revenue. unpopular the same. they all add together.
tag has to be unpopular to get you a penalty. so if bbw is trending, you don't get penalty for petite.

well, depends. having less tags on a girl will also have less tags on the scene. so more fans and more market share.
but as you said, you don't get those trending bonuses, which are pretty good.

if alt becomes unpopular it's not really the end of the world. theres a policy to reduce that unpopularity penalty

Man, the learning curve of this game is such a bitch lol. But thank you for the answer, I believe I have a much clearer picture now.

A couple of bug reports for 0.91; haven't seen 0.91b posted here yet so perhaps this is fixed already.

- Hotel clerks can still be recruited but can no longer be picked up: all of the options end up with "can't, I'm working" even though one of those used to work. No problems with the hotel maids though.
- I got lucky in the early game and ended up recruiting a level 3+ girl without too many flaws while on an overseas trip. I ended up flying her over for a week (not on contract) to fulfill one of the work orders and put her in the carwash afterwards. This was allowed (illegal aliens stealing our jobs !!!) and even after she went back home, she was still taking up a carwash spot and earning money. Not tested but I assume the same thing would happen for the massage parlor & other locations.

Aside from that, webcam shows can use overseas models but I would think that is working as designed. Working from home makes sense for a job like that; the others, not so much ...

I want try build "non porn empire" modeling plus camgirl and online shop ( for giggle and stuff). Is there any limit how many girls can put into modeling? I kinda can't add more girls into modeling... Any penalty put a girl into modeling and online shop at same time? or camgirl and online shop.

photo studio has a limit of 20.
camshows have none, but demand for marketing and admins will soon exceed your capacity.
online shop is just for keeping the fame from not dropping and not meant for earning money, but at really high ratings they do make money.
other properties, like strip and night club can also make some nice cash with the right perk/policy combination.
so it's very much doable.

Played v091 a few hours now and there's a couple of things I noticed that you probably already know about and maybe fixed already, but whatever:

- difficulty settings are kinda confusing, do they work? or do some work and others don't?
Like, if you start with "very easy" settings and expect $20000 starting money you only get $4000, but the 5+happiness and 10% scene boost is still there.
Maybe it's just the money, or some other multiplier/modifier-settings are also borked, I don't really know.

- models don't go into STD-rehab, it's instant heal, addiction-rehab works though

- PA policy "training twice as fast" doesn't seem to do anything. At 100% and with a lvl10 PA both models and staff still train as slow as ever.

- Studio-Staff has a "Day Off" more often than not, even on working days

And what happened to Rival Sabotage? They sanction me all the time (faster equipment deterioration was the worst), but I can't do anything to them anymore? That's kinda unfair, I want revenge.

no, there's a bug. you have to set the difficulty midgame.

>models don't go into STD-rehab, it's instant heal, addiction-rehab works though
fixed that

>PA policy "training twice as fast"
should work. i'll check.

>Day Off
probably coz it's listing the effects from the previous day.

removed. you'll be able to lower the effects in the next update. you can still do it by investments in the current one.

Not sure if that's exactly what they mean, but what bothers me personally is that my studio staff gets happiness penalties if they work 5 days a week. I have to limit them to work only MWF, because otherwise they'll quit after two or three weeks.
This seems unrelated to the happiness penalty of starting a shoot in the afternoon. I had set up auto-production to work on all week days and my studio staff's happiness kept dropping all the time, despite them being more than satisfied with their salary.

My studio staff works 6 days a week without trouble.
Make sure to only hire those that love their job, don't hire a director that hates directing and wants to be a marketeer, or editor.

it's balanced around 3 shoots per week.
can easily go more if you offer higher pay and try to shoot with as few disruptive models as possible(or lower that penalty with studio modes and policies).

I had a thought about the special NPCs, becuase it seems like they each have a particular PA job but there isn't really any incentive to use them for that. Like, using Kim Payton as a Medical Advisor seems like a natural fit but there really isn't any reason to have her do that over, say, being your Publisher.

So let's fix that - add a "hidden" PA bonus that only unlocks when the right girl is assigned to it. So for Medical Advisor, if you assign nurse Kim to it then this secret option unlocks. Naturally this should be an exceptionally powerful ability, since you do have to bust your ass to get these girls in the first place.

Another example could be something like putting Jenny in Human Resources makes your staff go to the gym and slowly increase their Fitness over time for free. Lena as your Production PA would have her coach your models to get better Sex Skill in the same way. Maya doing Analytics or Online Operations should give some kind of big nerd bonus, right? That punk chick who's name I forget says you can offer her a marketing job when you hire her, so maybe give her some kind of uber buff if you make her your Publishing PA. Sabine... obviously special unlock if made Finance Advisor. Carmen... wasn't sure at first, but she mentioned wanting open her own salon and then criques your strip club, so maybe she's a secret guru if turned into a Property Manager?

So basically it would look like this:

Publishing
30% fans on website
More fans & market share
20% more subscribers
Anti Piracy
+50% Popularity regardless of current trends <--- Only availible if punk girl is assigned to this position
