you have that part right. only profit is taxed, which is why the main goal for most companies is to have as many (real or fake) expenses that profit is around 0.No offense, but I hope the dev will some day enjoy some sort of tax education.
Using a 25% tax on sales each month and not revenue is stupid af.

Note, I am not critiqing this because its not realistic, but I am mad cause this "wrong" method is kicking me in the balls hard cause those taxes eat all of my revenue each month...
If the aim was to simulate VAT, then you should also alow other mechanics in the game, that make VAT in the real world actually work. Eg.: Make those Vids earn more money, get money back from the government, also count in the VAT I have to already pay for those freelancers or agency girls, ect...
i've just simplified whole thing coz with special chars and pa you can bring it down to 1%. but you have to be a veteran or a dev to know these things coz they're not explained lmao.
i might change it to be more realistic. plenty of people complained in the last few months.
might even fit nicely in the gameplay when you franticly try to buy shit at the end of the month just so you dont have to pay taxes.
over the years i've added a lot of mechanics, small factors that all influence the earnings. there's a lot to watch for and if you're new it's hard to notice certain things.I must say that I like the game in general, but without some decent explanation on what would be needed to actually generate income I find it very hard. I am shooting scene after scene (which is actually quite fun), but the costs eat up the revenue too fast. I do not get much more than, say, $20,000, and at the end of the month all is gone again. Everything that promises to get more money will at first *cost* a vast sum, so that is a problem as well.
I have tried to publish some scenes on the two websites I run, but even though they are green status, I do not see any money from them (I only have a few dozen subscribers). How do I change that? The only thing that gives at least some money back is to publish the scenes by Distributor Percentage. But I am still not able to produce more than one or maybe two scenes a day, which is way too little. If I happen to fulfill a work order, it helps, but most are impossible to achieve (blonde asian with gigantic tits? really?)
If I happen to invite a girl from the street for a casting, and manage her to do a scene at all, they most often will only do solo scenes, which I still cannot shoot because I cannot afford staff and studio. Also, they are only willing to accept a casting if I promise them to pay an increadible amount for a masturbation scene. If they accept a B/G scene, it will cost a fortune.
And then they come and want a 3-day-off and 2000 bucks. Very frustrating.
Still hoping that I can turn the wheel around with the bank loan
and it's never explained. either you have enough autism to notice the small number changes or just go with the flow hoping for the best.
things like condoms negatively affecting earnings and other small shit like that. even i forget about all of them.
anyways, websites are (or can be) the main income source later on. it's a long term investment.
you need some fans in the category you're about to open a website. if you have none, there will be no subs.
also niche sites (blonde teen or whatever) are better at the start than general (boy-girl) sites. subscriber growth on high niche sites is fast but obviously the ceiling is low and the other way for general sites.
work orders are randomly generated and sometimes you get wild shit. i did tweak it a bit so at the start you get easier contracts, but still theres a wild one here and there coz you never know. maybe you do happen to have blonde asian with massive tits, easy 40k + repuation.
at the start you just have to use street whores or agency models. both with downsides.
you may pick up some good looking chick, but then she's not depraved enough to even do porn and you can only wait.
otherwise hire some marketing people, asign them to publishing roles and publish scenes on tubes.
also check the stats tab where the most expenses are coming from and try to solve it. or post it here and we'll do it.
