I think you need to have a PA assigned to production to automate, did ya do that? PA Prod to auto shedule, PA Pub to auto publish. There is also an options page on your currently assigned Prod PA profile panel that has options, and also your models options page for exclusions from castings. Contracts that dont account for say girl/guy means IF they are cast for it AND they accept that scene costs more? In that case funding could come into question if you are low. And of course the auto schedule button in the studio page has options.
BTW @mbmb I very much like the heavy focus on management the game has, it is what in fact draws me to it. Manager game with T&A
Can the MC use the fertility drugs from his/her inventory? If so, where can I find the button to do this or does he/she automatically take every 10 days as long as they're in the inventory?

I don't know if someone report this already, but in version 083b if you ask girl for fuck, secret record it, then ask her to become a model and she agrees - she automatically become a freelance model. You don't need to cast her. And (!) her price will be very cheap!

If that's a bug I hope it stays it makes it a little easier to get the girls I want. But that cheap price doesn't last long I've seen it jump up $200-$400 after uploading the hidden vid.

Or you could add a stat check to let the girl know you recorded it, if you pass the check it can be considered her casting audition. As she is also an unknown it would make sense her price is cheap at least for a couple of videos.
