Some Ideas:

1. You are a fantasy harem magician and you get killed because you fucked with the wrong princess/queen. Before you did that you prepared a magic spell for reincarnation. You get reincarnated into a contemporary world where magic doesn't exist. You however have retained some magic but you lack the mojo to use it.
