Yeah, I really can't stress enough how much better it is to work with than twine (to be fair to twine though, I was also intentionally using a much older version for preference reasons).
Out of the loop, since I had a bit of fun here and there trying to mod, but when it comes to develop it's still a different issue, but while I assume Ren'Py is easier (at least the version of Twine you used was quite hard to see the content), how hard it is to simply "teleport" the content from html to Ren'Py? Or you're confident that since the content isn't as big as CD, the issues aren't going to be as tough to detect?

On the same page, due the complexity that CD already has, I assume that one won't go to Ren'Py, or am I mistaken?

Finally, even if I already follow your content for quite a while and I already said it several times, publicly and privately, thank you very much for the effort and the fun that your games gave to me. Sure they are porn games, but besides that, I believe I speak for most people here that your projects are inherentely fun to play and replay.

Just gave the html a shot, short but very fun. Is it going to be more sandboxy once it's on renpy? I know sandbox usually gets a lot of hate, but there seems to be a decent amount of things to do so I don't think I would mind given the current content density per day

Sad day... Renpy games is far better than RPGM & most of the time Unity imo but i don't see how your game can fit into renpy engine... games like your or Freecities look too much made for HTML engine (the saves; the posibility to open multi-tab in 1 windows; text wall; etc...).

I hope to be proven wrong but yet i don't see how it will enhance your current game, not with his particular game mechanic.
All i see is limitation & lost features who will can't be ported or be radicaly changed...

Had no idea you were going to port this (and CD) to renpy...

The RL porn games I've seen on renpy have all be quite clunky, especially how the videos are done, and I'm not sure if it will lend itself to your type of game. Having said that, good luck in porting it, I will still look forward to what you make.

It won't be simply teleported over for a few reasons, one just because of how stuff was coded in twine vs renpy, but also because I'll be doing a lot of reworking to stuff in general, like removing the barrage of custom names, removing a lot of unused backgrounds that just ate up time, and reverting stat growth back to a CD "let's just make number go up" system.

Also, it will be developed in the same way as Deck of Hearts currently is. That means AI art with a button to swap to the real porn (just like in that one), and voice acting for the narrator/characters. And also, just from developing Deck of Hearts from the minigame on my discord that it was based off of, I know that I'm going to end up rewriting/reworking a lot of parts that I wasn't previously happy with.

CD will eventually go to renpy. I'm going to have a poll for patrons soon to determine if, after CD's main story is done in HTML, if people want to go back to splitting time between PoW renpy and CD renpy, or if they want me to just completely finish CD renpy from start to finish, or if they want me to get a good PoW renpy foundation before thinking about the CD remake.

Thanks, I'm hoping that as I get more comfortable with renpy people will warm up to it.

I decided to change my rival's gender and now I get this error. Error: the passage "GBRival025aStart1Property1" does not exist
That might be a problem if you selected "changing their gender takes a long time" rather than immediate in the lab. I know she's a lot of stuff on the development map, but I'm not sure if there was a lot added for her post-transformation though.

There's a few "errors" with the new version, I think.
Can't speak with the genderbent ex-rival brother, I get a Error: the passage "GBRival025aStart1" does not exist.

Also the tribal royals + the bodyguard are all listed as loyalists even though they obviously did not fight for us in the civil war, something minor but just thought I'd report it.

So I'm still discussing this with patrons/thinking about it myself, but what I'm looking to do for CD/PoW is the following:

Instead of chapters generally being divided up by weeks (such as in CD, while PoW has specific days for specific events), what I'd do is divide the game up into seasons. So you could pass multiple days and do as much as you want that is available in that season. With this, you'd still cycle through day/night, but you'd be able to encounter every scene at least once in that season. For the people that enjoy the time management aspect of the games, though, you'll be limited by how many scenes you can get experience from. So after, let's say 10 scenes, you'd stop being able to level up stuff in that season, but would still get to visit other scenes. And then once you go to the next season, you'd be able to get XP from 10 scenes again (or maybe more/less depending on how much is available in a given period).

Aside from making things easier to explore/eliminating choice paralysis, this would also have the nice benefit of opening both games up to more holiday-related stuff (since the MC in CD wouldn't only be on his third week of school before trying to save the world). So that opens up more cosplay stuff, and for pregnancy fans, it'd also mean you wouldn't have to cast an accelerated pregnancy spell, you could just wait a couple of seasons.
