Ren'Py - Power Vacuum [Ch. 12 Official] [What? Why? Games]

This one's weird, like really weird.

Mostly the dialogue. As my favourite reviewer says "A good time... if you're drunk!". Weird beyond description. Not sexy. Not "jump your bones" porn level. Not Engrish. Weird.

The renders are alright, if they're in a face front looking at you pose. But they get really off with some others. Ex: when Brenna is at the pool, her head is suddenly too small, rotated at 120 degrees, like it's made out of rubber. Unearthly big tits and tiny limbs, but that's par for some porn games.

The NTR foe barely looks human. I know there are some plot points to it, but still, he'd be more at home in a fantasy setting.

The grind is bearable. It's Ren'Py so you can just SKIP until you read dialogue that's new and the robot helper tells you what you need to do, so that's fine. No real walkthrough needed.

Still, I give it 4/5 because most of the models have a mischievous look and dialogue about them when they're not being weird and I love me some mischief with my Love Interests.

extremely realistic game, with a slow build up as each update is a step towards the corruption of each family member, im not usually a fan of NTR however the grandpa who is your rival is extremely charismatic and hilarious as a character that the NTR isnt even that bad

I love the characters, the dialogue is super fun and witty, and it's a great slow-burn game. Keep up the good work and ignore all the noise!

For repeat even progression, it'd be cool if you added some randomness in the daily grind to keep things spicy and fun.

Power Vacuum 0.5:

Pros:

• Better than average renders & animation.
• Slow burn. The game designer takes the time to let the player get to know the characters. Only the better visual novels here do that.
• The characters are real, three-dimensional people, not just fap material. Paradoxically, this makes the fapping more satisfying.

Cons, (Only two):

• Sound is very sparse and absent during the sex scenes. However, this is a perennial complaint about most games, and I do understand the extra time and money it takes to add good sound, so this is just a nitpick, and not really a complaint.
• Grandpa. This fucker is waaaay too creepy. His presence (so far) has actually lessened my enjoyment of the game. I understand that there’s a big payoff coming because of this, but *shudder*. I want to murder this rapey douche and bury him under an off-ramp. Seriously. I wish the creator had dialed grandpa back a skosh.

• However, all of this is eclipsed by the one great strength of this game: the dialogue. This game has far and away the wittiest writing of any game I’ve played here. It sparkles and fizzes like Champaign. I found myself laughing out loud regularly while playing. I’m not exaggerating when I say I would still have played this game, even with creepy grandpa, if there was no sex in it at all. The creator is wasted here. He should be writing hit sitcoms.

If you want to play a game so well done it's gonna make you forget you downloaded to jack off then this is the game for you.
Technically speaking it may not be the BEST adult game but the character feels so goddamn authentic and so well written it's gonna blow you away.
While not the most common and conventional "roommates" all the characters relations feel real and authentic.
You progress steadily into more and more spicy situations with your "roommates" without being rushed of dumbed-down.

So the premise is still here and the game has excellent writing, characters and scenes but something is slowly but surely changing and not for the better.
Although you notice that from the beginning the characters (MC included) have a really "not ordinary" line of thought but it's getting more and more ridiculous as the game progresses.
While this fuels some of the funniest moments I've had playing games (ANY game not only adult novels) it takes away one of the greatest merit this game used to have: realistic characters.
Before it sounded unusual but understandable while now it's just weird and feels really pushed. MC is starting to and more and more dumb and when he is unsure of what to do he just goes "meh, fuck it" and takes the direct approach like there were no consequences whatsoever.
This game was one of THE BEST because it understood that it needed a certain pace to get things going and have always used a smart way to move the story forward without resorting to what only looks like lazy writing. I really wish the best for this game as I grew fond of the characters and their story but I just hope the developer doesn't burn out and rush the ending like so many games nowadays.

Was a deserved 9/10 but now is more 8/10.

Power Vacuum is great, funny Visual Novel with lots of lewd scenes. The game is still in development at the moment and sets up plenty of future content. There is a working incest patch which makes 4 of the main girls related if that's your thing.

There is no full intercourse scenes with your family yet and only 1 with one of your sister's school friends. apart from that all the scenes are hot and funny at the same time.

The comedy is great where you banter with the characters frequently.

The dev is heavily active in the forum as well which is always a good sign.

The character models in this game are pretty decent. The characters themselves are interesting and funny. Honestly i spent more time laughing at this game than jacking off to it. The witty back and forth shit talk between the characters was gold at times and many times i burst out laughing. i honestly cant wait for more.

To be honest this game had a bit of a slow buildup. First few releases i thought to myself "wow the models are pretty hot, lets see what happens" and as the game has been updated, boy oh boy. I replayed this game from the start and was not disappointed in the slightest. Animations are amazing, models are hot, story is quirky which i appreciate. This went from a "meh" to a "i cant wait" within just a few updates. Cant speak for the NTR as thats not my thing. Do not sleep on this game, its really good!

The character design is good.
The story is what im hooked at and how the protagonist developed in the story. And the game is not short considering the size of the game.

The story is pretty generic for incest game. The render is nice. The girls are stereotype at first glance but there're things that make them unique. It's a sandbox game but grinding isn't bad. There're NTR but can aviod easily. What I like about this game is its humor and dialog. It's funny and I often laughed when I was playing.

So i played v0.5 and what can i say?

This is one of the best game i played. Here's why.

1. The developer actually trying to write a real family. In most incest games at some point siblings like just forget that their siblings. They like really become landlady and tennants.
Of course its still porn game, so we have crazy situation. But at least he is trying. And there is a reason for this sexual tension. Like the most weird character Hunter. Oh boy, how many people talking about that.

But i think the main problem is that people have wrong expectation from this game. Its mostly kinetic game and only NTR bad ending, very short i must say. If you don't like it. Well, its just a matter of taste. Game just not for you.

this game has quite nice girls in it with solid renders, really good english and nice humour BUT

this games contradict itself totally and is a fucking click grind...

i played two chapters just rushing through the story most of the time to see some content with the old guy. the game tells me if that i have to get close to the girls to protect them from the old guy with name hunter BUT if i want that the old guy has his way with the girls you get VERY underwhelmed:

- the help bot tells you always to pick the "protective" aka "good" choice
- you HAVE TO get close to the girls to not get stuck with the story and to see more with the old guy which is a total contradiction
- even i turn NTR on or of i dont see any NTR yet even after TWO chapters and more than an HOUR of clicking and reading...!
the old guy nearly never appears and tries to have his way with the girls just randomly appears to tell some "deep" philosophical stuff....

what a time waste if you want content with the old guy! + my finger hurts from clicking for all these repetitive scenes! (at least make 4 times max per scenes and not 8 or even 12 wtf?)

render, girl and text wise this game deserves a far better rating but the rest is pure contradiction and time waste if you want to be the bad guy and to see more of the old guy!

I wish devs just make up their damn minds on what particular audience they're trying to target. For those who think this is 5 star game... Please get help.
The game starts off trolling cucks, making them think their was NTR scenes. But then as the game progresses they are more of those cuck scenes then actual material for the "Normal" route. You know what pisses me off about NTR games the most? It's the lack of common sense. Imagine this... You do all the right things trying to woo a girl but you make mistake and boom!! NTR.

In this game you grind to slowly seduce the girls, as usual. But while they're strong willed and challenging towards you, make one mistake and all of a sudden they're easy sluts for Hunter. It. Just. Doesn't. Make. Sense. Even if it can be "reset" It kinda ruins it for me knowing the girls are wrecked by the burn patient.

MC's dick issue was annoying and pointless. Cucks are in comments complaining that it's not Cuckish enough, this game is all over the place.

Why 3 stars? Is clearly from the op this game was intended to target a certain fanbase and yet almost all the sex content in the game is for the bad endings and the antagonist in the game.
The games tried too hard on humor and the story seems like don't advance anymore, there is mostly no development of the characters and the mc at all, just pointless humor for the sake of it that at some point it becomes pretty annoying.
The only good in the game is the renders and animations... the story if there is any to begin with has been somehow forget by the dev and the game spirals on grind and pointless scenes.
I think when the mc have sex with the mom he will be as old as the antagonist or even older.

The reason is simple, this game has all the sexual content in the ntr path while the mc dont get any sexual content at all and is already 0.6, for a game not centered on ntr seems like any content at all is throw in those non cannon endings (bad endings) while the mc just get some humiliation here and there... A waste of time.

Dialogue is witty and occasionally pretty funny. Started getting pretty annoying towards the end though.
Renders of the girls are great, though some have weird-looking boobs. The MC is still weirdly short, however.

An awfully enjoyable game. The writing is crisp and enjoyable with very little fat to it so you feel engaged whilst playing.

It almost feels aware of itself in the type of game it is. There's a fear that it could become too aware as time goes on and have too many "nods to the audience" as it were but there's no sign of that now.

Characters are interesting, visuals are good. The only downside I would say is there's little to do beyond clicking on a particular room at a particular time. There's no "game" aspect of it. Which has the plus side of meaning zero grind but still, it's odd to have the choice to go to other rooms if there's never anything to do in them.

The con to this game are given the day and night cycle, undoubtedly you're going to run into 'scene hunting' and 'scene repetition' mode which will tire some. But I think every day night cycle game has this.

The polarizing: This is not a 'fast sex' game..you will work to it. That doesn't mean there's no sexual content because there's a ton, but this is a game that has huge character development to get there.

The good: The writing is great but..is there too much of it? I found myself reading everything at first but there comes a point where conversations are just funny and not revealing any development of character or plot points. Ultimately this slows down the pace of the game if you're actually reading everything.

The 5-star part: Pure creativity. I said the game is well written but also this game is among the top percentile of games in terms of putting those well written characters in unique sexual situations. For example, a boy in a house of women game typically just rushes to sex without much thought for the mental barriers that each woman or the boy would go through. This game examines every aspect of this dynamic and does so with some of the most creative sexual scenario writing out there.

This is probably the only game i have played on here the made me laugh out loud, the writing (dialog) is superb and is perfect for my kind of humor. I feel like the creator understands how these types of games are and knows how to make them "the right way", which imo is a slow burn with distractions rather than the mc boning everything that moves the instant they make eye contact. If you have not given this game a try, give it a chance. 10/10

Good, amusing, and (relatively) believable dialog, the characters look good and have distinct personalities, NTR completely optional, only criticism is scenes slightly janky but the positives far outweigh the negatives.

So, let me start by saying I enjoyed this in its early iterations. Interesting setting with Hunter, funny dialogues, decent gameplay (grind seemed fun with the changes in interactions) and good character models.

After playing the last update, I have to say, the funny dialogue is starting to get annoying to me. In all this time, there hasn't been any story progression and I don't really care about any of the characters, since I don't know them. Every interaction with every charater (except Hunter) goes off on a tangent which tells me absolutely nothing about the character I interact with. All the scenes have been because of some cockamamie setup that does nothing to move the story along.

At this point I feel like, the dev decided to focus entirely on the humor, rather than the story, the characters and anything else. And in some cases that might even be passable, but the thing with off-kilter humor, it shouldn't be done to death since after a while it just gets annoying.

Apart from that there is the grind, which I really don't mind at all, since each time you do the same thing, you get a different scene which makes it feel not grindy at all.

Apologies for what might seem like a rant, but I did enjoy this game at the start and thought it could become enjoyable with more content. But, unfortunately for me, the dialogue has become tedious and everything else seems to have been relegated to the background. Of course, this is just my opinion, and if this is the game What? Why? Games wants to make and the story they want to tell, then by all means ignore this and all the best for the future. Again I'm not one for negative reviews, but I felt like I had to say something.
