Averaging the last three you would arrive at about 10 months per update. We are now a full 6 months past that...
Average vs rate.

Average is only useful when updates are constantly around the same time each that's not really the case here. When trying to figure out how long something takes you often use rate.
Last update took 11 months so even that one would have been past the average.

And that's not even accounting for the increased amount of renders per update as well.

Chapter 9 had 658 renders, chapter 10 had 762 renders, Chapter 11 had 49 scenes on the to-do list and 1,001 renders, chapter 12 had 1,391 renders and 56 scenes on the todo list.

It's very very obvious that chapters have been getting consistently longer so using average doesn't make any sense here. The updates don't all come out in the same time frame and they don't all contain the same amount of scenes. It's not like he's been making the exact same sandwich, the exact same size around the same time a day.

And again we have litearlly this exact same discussion on this thread every single update cycle. The rule exists for a reason because pretty much every game thread with long update cycles devolves into this same discourse.

The entire point of forums is discussion, by enforcing that rule, this thread has nothing to discuss that hasnt been said already when the last update was 14 months ago. I fail to see how this is a valid argument.

The point of forums is discussion about the games, not the development time. I don't really see why 14 months matters. Anything that "hasn't been said" was true a 3 months after the update first came out. There's always more to discuss and new people joining threads that haven't been part of the older conversations. This entire argument makes absolutely no sense to me. Even without new information about the game people can still discuss preferences or theories about the next chapter. You think people talking about the development time now are discussing stuff that hasn't "already been said"?

Wouldnt people new to the thread be repeating the same stuff as earlier in the thread? Isnt that what you have an issue with?

It's a forum about the game. Development time is definitely a significant topic of any game or piece of media. Kinda weird to try to dictate to people what they can talk about man.

I think you know exactly what he's been getting at...

The same recycled arguments concerning development time/missed dates, the trolling/flame bait posts throwing not-so-thinly veiled insults at anyone who's not bitching about WWG from the same people. The kind of things that are deemed off-topic and get deleted en-masse.

I don't have a problem with people repeating the same stuff over and over again. I have an issue with people derail conversations about the actual plot and characters of the game to talk about the development cycle and call the dev a scam artist. They do this in nearly every thread that has long update cycles and it always kills any genuine exciment people have for the next update or interest in actual discussion. Because we always have people arguing about milkers on one side and another side of people saying it's not a milker or to just shut up and leave.

Exact same arguments, the exact same people no matter what the game. I want actual discussions about the plot and characters of the game. I don't care if someone said the same thing back in January. If they said it it's long enough I forgot about it anyway.

Of course I am because there is literally a rule about talking about the development cycle. This development stuff crap is annoying when people talk about in this thread and it's annoying when people talk about it in every other thread. I don't care if you hate how long the game takes. I don't care if you think the dev is a liar. The thread derailment is annoying

Okay so just ignore it if you don't like it. Just like how you don't care what other people think, others also do not care whether you like what they have to say either.

We literally have a rule about dicussing development cycle, we literally get this exact same argument every development cycle for every game. This thread is here to talk about the game. If you want to complain about the game why don't you actually message and vent to the dev himself or on the discord
You sure are doing a lot of running around to argue with the moderator just to make sure no one says anything negative about your precious WWG. Almost like you know it's all true and desperately don't want anyone to mention it. The moderator said speaking on the delay is fine, he's the moderator not you, move on. If you don't want to talk about the delay, ignore it and don't talk about it. You don't control the conversation here.

That's the whole issue though. Consistent updates means that type of bitching is easily thrown out as off topic, but in this case, assuming WWG gets this update out when he says he will, it will be two months away from our abandoned tag. I don't see how that type of discussion is off topic at all here.

I enjoy the discussion, it helps understanding on both sides typically. That clearly isnt the case here.

I think you've encountered this before... you know how it always happens, the same arguments everywhere when there's a delay... and everywhere the same arguments about *abandoned* and *on-hold*... smart guys pop up everywhere to defend their own lol :HideThePain:

I fail to see how the update time suddenly makes something off topic then on topic now. If it was off topic when the update came out it's still off topic now.
You genuinely dont see how the exact same post can easily be dismissed as a poor attempt at trolling days after an update but a year and a half after one is a genuine topic of conversation?

No no, don't try to recontextualise what I wrote. That's incredibly disingenuous.
He's even said the same thing, and you're here in this thread as it's happening too.
If you think that's a misinterpretation then I failed to read what you meant in your message. Please reword it so I can understand.

I didn't say he was milking nor do i think he is.

He lied to his supporters and everyone looking forward to this update for 13 months.

if his staunchest supporters didn't defend every single criticism of WWG small or large maybe the thread wouldn't have so many repeat conversations maybe just allow people to say their piece and they will leave, the fact that this stunt he pulled last minute has so many defenders is just sad.
If you think WWG isn't milking, then what should people be upset about?

If WWG's "staunchest supporters didn't defend every single criticism", would they be his staunchest supporters?

What is your central thesis anyway? You just come across as deeply resentful for some reason that's unclear.

That's not what trolling means and that's not what most of those comments getting removed are. Most of them are people bitching because they dislike that the update takes longer than a couple months in the first place. It has nothing to do with them being a troll, it's just annoying people.

Same with the flaming, it's not people trolling it's entitled people who simply just don't care. I don't see why people complaining about the development cycle being to long after a month is any different than people complaining about it now. It would be different if the removed comments were saying the game "never" updates and should get the abandonment tag after a month. But that's not what the people complaining about the game being a scam are doing

Like I said you can say whatever negative bullshit about the game you want. I don't care about it. I find this conversation annoying and I find the fact that every thread of this site ends up the same way after a few months annoying.
