If you think that's a misinterpretation then I failed to read what you meant in your message. Please reword it so I can understand.
I don't think you're misinterpreting anything. You know precisely what I was saying, what storm1051787 was saying, and what MAGO-DAG was saying.

You two know you can block people right? Seems that's the fundamental issue at hand here.

Imagine arguing with a mod when things dont go your way.

Flaming and trolling should get timed out and penalized.

But people can express their thoughts about the delay, that it feels weird, that it came out of nowhere, that it felt like a prank, that itll be 16 months at least by the time the chapter comes out while the previous one took 10, that the dev missed the mark by an unusual long shot.

These are all pretty valid to me I dont see why people should be silenced for that.

Because there is a rule about it.

Because it devolves into peopleinsulting each other for not agreeing

Because it devolves to less about critisim for the dev and more outright insults for the dev and any supporters.

Because this is a repeated phenomena that happens on multiple game threads. And if you guys truely think your complaint and "critisim" are valid. Then I don't see why you should have a problem with anything i'm saying. You're venting and so am I.

I enjoy the discussion, it helps understanding on both sides typically. That clearly isnt the case here.
Well no, because one of the sides can only be explained clearly by WWG and he's not giving his side. Then again, why should he? It's his personal life, so it's none of our business. So, we only get one side and a lot of speculation, which is not productive at all, which is why the rule was probably made in the first place.

So yeah, there's no discussion, just a lot of (unfounded) blame thrown around.

The two sides I was referring to in that post have nothing to do with WWG, but taken completely out of context I understand what you mean.

So the people here are mad about how WWG's supporters aren't mad at him ?
WWG is one of the few developers who is so close to completing the game. His followers' support is not based on personal acquaintance with him. He earned it by staying focused on the game and keeping them informed at all times.
People's disappointment is natural, too. It's similar to sports: there are great players and mediocre ones. ordinary performance by ordinary players is tolerated, but even a good play by a great player is sometimes scrutinised.

If he posts an image of Ophelia with a cock or someone getting fucked by a dog once or twice a year all his supporters will forgive him and award 10/10 goty awards. Anyone pointing out this may be a little absurd is a hater/troll.

Meanwhile that sweet sweet £4k a month rolls in and he can sit peacefully by his indoor pool.

"Shall I write bad dialogue for Catherine today? No. No, I think I will suntan instead." he thinks.

I mean tbf it's a good gig, better than working at Subway or whatever else he'd be doing.

I'm not one who gives dev any kind of shit, regardless of the situation, much less WWG who's delivered a spectacular game that's on it's last chapter. They wanna spend time making it perfect, or like mentioned, really have some personal issues to work out. The game will come out, because it eventually always does.

But I do think it's not right to basically come out the day before his own deadline to say: "Damn guys, I thought it'll be done tomorrow, but seems like it'll take a few more months. Sorry bout that."

... you think someone making 4k a month could afford an indoor pool?

Lot of people trying to explain for other people why they are mad. Just read their posts, you don’t have to guess and make up a head canon.

WWG misled his audience about the game’s development progress and timeline. Some think he may have had legitimate personal reasons and some think he lazed off and didn’t do anything but make teasers for the past several months. The likelihood of either is equal because as has been said, he’s chosen not to explain himself to his funders despite being funded for years.

It’s not anyone here’s responsibility to imagine a special set of circumstances that excuse this all away when even the dev doesn’t want to. Think what you want to think, though.

if Cyberpunk had come out 3 years after its release it would have been remembered as a masterpiece, instead the shareholders wanted it to come out earlier with the consequences we know well. Never rush if you want a quality product :WeSmart:
That is 100%, but I doubt that's the real issue. The issue is that the community was promised a release by March, then right at the end of March, the rug is pulled from under us and we're told that actually the release date is unknown.

even if he had explained that the reason for the delay you can't have any guarantee if it's true or false, maybe in the future penalties could be applied that if the creator after not having respected the delivery times of the game within the pre-established times that all patreons are automatically refunded and this can protect more those who release money to the developer

That's just dumb. No dev ACTUALLY knows when they will be done with a chapter. Their release dates are just predictions. If you set penalties, no dev will ever predict when they think they will be done with a chapter. Then you'll get 1 of 2 things. Devs that have random updates without announcements or updates coming out at their release date unfinished for fear of mass refunding because they were a few days off of their prediction.
