Do you know what milking means? You don't, so i'll just give you a quick explanation and i won't even charge you. Milking is sitting on your ass, not doing anything and letting the money still come in. That's not what this dev is doing. He's actively developing the game. It's taking a long time yes, but he's not just sitting around doing nothing.

Ironically, I'm noticing a lot of those "you all will disappear when the update drops anyway" copers have....disappeared?

This guy is just fully scamming now. Again, "I'll let you know if anything comes up. I've been working non-stop on the update" was a few months ago, and he's done anything but. We only hear the excuses after the shamelessly misses a deadline wtih no info prior. Suddenly, we're talking "main surgery". That a tough break *if true*. Doesn't help this is all prior to the last chapter release, brings a lot of reasons to suspect other reasons for the delays. It also instills zero faith that any of these post-CH13 plans ever happen.

Lastly, I'll say, as a medical doctor, I don't know what a "main surgery" is. Every surgery comes with a risk of bleeding and infection, plus there's Anesthetics to worry about so closing someone up with the expectation of doing another surgery is unfamilair to me. Why would one not do the medically necessary procedures when you're right there? Who knows.

That may be ironic on a surface level, but it could simply be that the "copers" are occupied with other things, and thus are not as naturally desperate as the complainers.

I'm not a doctor, but I have known people who required subsequent surgeries. Perhaps the "main surgery" is some kind of bone repair, followed by hardware removal or skin grafts. Or maybe WWG looks like Kevin and is getting bariatric surgery, to be followed up with excess skin removal.

I think there is some confusion about the definition of "milking" patreons. For me the definition of milking is when you expect a game developer to have excellent content (both in terms of graphics and writing) and instead he gives you sessions of random sex of poor quality, completely losing sight of the plot on which it is based for a long, long, long time. This for me is the definition of milking.
WWW unlike the others has always been consistent and people appreciate it for this. If anything the patreons are tired of this long wait for the release of the final chapter they are free to do so, but if everyone was consistent with your thinking WWW would have closed its doors by now... evidently based on the solid trust that has been created with its supporters, people agree to wait longer because they know that a quality product will be released.

The "main surgery" is the most important surgery of a series of surgeries. Hence the "main".

When I was a kid and broke my arm, I had surgery because they had to put a bar from a few millimeters in cross section up my arm to keep the bone steady. Are you telling me they should have removed it straight away after they put it in, because I was already there on the table?

It's clear your field of medicine isn't surgery.

I... shared an anecdote. I was 9, broke my arm, they had to put a rod in to keep the bone straight, because the break was right at the end, and afterwards, they removed it. That's not an opinion, not a way how I think about medicine, but literally what happened.

Yes, you are completely correct. Those animations were cuts from stuff he already worked on. In fact, if you check previous teasers, you'd be able to link specific animations to those various teasers. That's because he made those animations at the same time he made those renders, because it would be stupid not to. The reason why he's not posting renders (or animations) anymore is because they're all done. Every single one. Even the ones he can't show because that's spoiler territory. Oh, he's done, you say? No, because there's more to a game than just rendering images. Now, he needs to write all the dialogue. And that's a bit harder to tease, because it's words. A lot of words. And nobody wants to see screenshots of a text editor. And chances are, there will be spoilers in it.

So to say that the proof is the fact he won't post teasers anymore is just stupid.

In one of his previous progress updates WWG said the last 10% usually means only writing is remaining considering he has been on 93% for 5 months now since 2 Jan 2025 and he also said on February 2 that he'd be realising the game in march which is the normal time he'd take for writing phase that is 1-2 months. So clearly that February update where he said that he'd be releasing the game in march is a clear indication that he has almost completed the writing phase too.

so what is it that is taking him so long after the fact the visual work has been completed by January and writing has almost completed by February, that he needs 5 more months (march to end of July, if he does release it by the end of July that is) for what little remains after that?

Not impossible that he suddenly realize he could make his final chapter much better while he previously believed he was nearly done. It happened to me on many projects where I thought I was almost finished and then I got new ideas to improve the final results which made it much better in the end.

It's not like I haven't said this either, this is one of the three scenarios I presented.

But whatever the case he should be upfront about it, being vague about it, would only cost him and not be beneficial to him.

Extremely relevant actually. Life is short, one day you're here next day you're gone. About 100k people die everyday so if the game is done & dev is milking it about 5 million people will not be able to play this game if it comes out at the end of next month(52ish days till the end of next month x 100k)
