Yup, people get sick. No one's denying that. But it happens way too often in this field, and far too often when a dev is right at the end of development on a cash cow game. When ending said game would dry up their paying sub base faster than a nun in the Vatican.
If all the Patrons stop pledging right now, in two days the game will be completed, including the various endings.
Except he paused billing, so he's not making any money right now.

This type of authors are why i dont want to sub on patreon. This will be a huge scar for me
Well, don't treat it as a subscription, then. Treat it as 'paying for the current version of the game'.
I never heard of 12-month-straight achievement - you don't lose anything from unsubscribing. And subscribing back when you're actually downloading the game. Or just want to reward the author.

Why would it. Having a finished game is the greatest publicity you can have and you can always make a sequel to keep milking it. The true reason why this happens is because finishing stories and especially game stories is incredibly hard. If you don't have the experience it's easy to find out you wrote yourself into a corner or get burned out and eventually sick.

Why would you ever "end" the game at all if you plan on milking as much as possible from people? Just drag it out forever.

And this was supposed to be the last update. And he did pause the subscriptions. So in this case I do believe he wants to continue this project and will come back with the update in a foreseeable future.

Abandoned?... WTF?... It's true?
On F95, if it's been longer than 18 months, it's considered abandoned. But looking at the Patreon page, his last update when he was working on it was a few months ago, and a couple months ago he put the game on pause while he takes a break from it. So, not exactly abandoned, just "abandoned" based on F95 rules.

Honestly if you don't know what's actually happening don't assume you know.
Hmm, interesting advice. Wonder if you follow it yourself?
WWG is dealing with legitimate medical issues that have delayed the project. Billing has been paused and the update will come once he is able to finish it. This is not a case of milking just life throwing unexpected curveballs which could happen to anyone. It's not fair to put a developer who communicates in the same league as others who aren't as forthright with information.
Ouch, couldn't even go a single sentence without breaking your own advice. You're right, none of us know exactly what's going on. You don't know any more than we do about what's going on, yet you throw out this authoritative crap, talking down to people while preaching you somehow know exactly what's going on. And why, cause the dev said so? Let me give you a simple but pertinent quote from one of the best TV show leads ever. "Everybody lies." House. M.D.

And WWG has already, at a minimum, been guilty of lying by omission, if not outright lying about progress and actually being in active development. So, it's more likely than not that these medical problems are another fib.

At first it was sad, shocking even. but now I don't really care anymore, I accept this reality and choose to be content with what we already have, which is top tier, but its time to face it, ggs.

I'm still hopeful that it will come out soon
It could. The game "A mother's love" was abandoned for a while due to real life problems with the dev and it looked like he would never return to it after a long hiatus, but he suddenly returned to it and has been back updating it again.

Real life gets in the way, and if you're not getting a lot of financial support, these people have to work to pay the bills which slows down production, and these sorts of games take A LOT of work just to put together one scene.
