I've asked this with other games: What's the point of having a Point System, if you don't SHOW how many points the Player has?

Ambiguity adds a more natural feel to gameplay. Not everything needs a stat tracker for min maxing and if the player doesn't know what options are being weighed they are more likely to pick the choices they want.
