Hey now, don't drag me into your beef, lol. My criticism is only that the advertised "major" choice in the last update had no real consequences in that update.

Yeah, that choice is one of a few that'll lead into the harem path, similar to how they were a few choices without immediate impact that have led into the throuple path. The throuple path really starts in Chapter 18 (which I'm working on now), so you'll definitely start seeing those throuple path choices making an impact soon. The harem path will become more obvious in a few chapters. The romance path choices don't tend to have immediate impact, since I think it'd be weird to just have a "harem" button - you make a few choices, they have compounding impacts, and then things start happening.

Honestly, I think it'd be really cool if I could make the game have a lot of different choices, but then it'd branch in fifty directions and turn into a big, open-world RPG game. That'd be awesome, but I'm a solo developer working on this after my full-time IRL job and on weekends, so PoP would just get mired in development hell. I think I have just the right amount of choices so that, by the last chapters, I'm not writing a ton of different endings and splitting the game in twenty different directions.

Oh I understand. I'm definitely not looking for a magic "go-go gadget harem" button, as that would destroy immersion pretty quick.

I suppose what I'm hoping to see for similar situations in the future is perhaps a simple 2-4 minute long scene taking place shortly after the branching path, with a few unique renders, exclusive to each path, that implies the player made a significant choice. It could be anything, really. A short monologue. A whispered conversation. A reflection on how the situation is starting to evolve (or not). Anything. Just something to drive home the point that a crossroads has been hit and a path was taken, beyond just some different text here or there.

Also, it is true that some games do stretch themselves a bit thin with an overwhelming amount of branching paths - which all have to be updated with content. There's one game comes to mind that has such crazy amounts of branching that some paths barely have 5 minutes of new content after a long awaited update. And that's not even the dev's fault, they're making the game they set out to make.

I agree with this sentiment wholeheartedly. Too many games make 50 branching paths and than they all end up shallow like the side quests in a Bethesda game. It is better to have one path but a good one than 50 shallow mediocre ones. So your balance of a few paths is I feel a good idea.

It'll be three scenes instead of two because I moved 17's scene to 18. And yes, the naming is on purpose.

Hey all, glad to see another update. Trying to figure out if the latest update is worth a download or if I should wait a bit longer. Last update I got hyped to see "Major romance path choice" in the changelog. But I didn't realize it was literally just the choice with no (or no noticeable) scenes that seemed to stem directly from that choice.

Not a hater, I still love the story. I'd just rather wait until another update if it's just more of that.

My advice is: just wait and "store" a few updates before replaying the game.

I'm sorry, but that's definitely the opposite of wholesome. Handholding cheating is as unwholesome as it gets.
They guy should be in the middle so that the girls could be aware of and share one another's handholding bliss.

Ignore the trolls btw. Your game is up there on my main list. Your writing seems fine. In fact, I think I laugh more at your game's writing than Drifty's if that's any consolation. Yes LoF is a great game (still on the fence with u4ia), but I still think yours is very engaging and can't wait to continue. Yes I know you told me to write a review, but I never have the time. I do still plan to one of these days.
