It's mostly the lightning set up, presumably the textures and materials came with whatever DAZ sets these models are from. This hair colour, and style (when it's used together) look disgusting. Honestly, I dunno why it always creeps me out. I have seen in a couple of games the same hairstyle, and colour.

I honestly don't know DAZ, just some experience with Blender, but the way the images look so "wash-out" is usually due to the light source strength being a bit too high, and if there's a size setting for lights, those values are just wrong in these games.
Obviously the lights can't be too dim, for it makes it difficult to see shit. But think of a camera -- if the light source is too bright one might over-expose the images. Image having just one light source that hits a surface uniformally -- the brighter the light is, the "whiter" the surface will look, thus looking wash-out.
The light size thing, again, I'm not sure if DAZ has an equivalent or what is it called, if it even uses a different name. I can't describe it in words but the first few minutes of this video shows the difference of light size settings in blender visually. Though I do recommend the entire course but sadly nothing can give a person all the valuable experiences in just a few hours.
Also, the colors of the light sources might be too "cold" (look up warm and cold colors), there may need to be more or fewer light sources, maybe not use spot light on a character's face or maybe the sun lamp is too bright, etc.. Frankly lighting is just a very complicated topic, not just in 3D rendering, but in imaging in general. I'm not surprised that many porno-game devs can't get it since they are mostly small-time, and working part-time on top. Not to mention likely lack of proper training in the crafts.
